摘要： A sheet feeding device, which is included in an image forming apparatus and an image forming system, includes a sheet loader, an air drawing body, an attracting and conveying device, an air duct and a blocking device. The sheet loader is a device on which a bundle of sheets is loaded. The air drawing body is configured to generate suction air. The attracting and conveying device is configured to attract a sheet on top of the bundle of sheets by the suction air and convey the sheet. The air duct is configured to intake the suction air drawn by the air drawing body, to the attracting and conveying device. The blocking device is configured to block the suction air in the air duct.

The light emitted by the illuminating device illuminates a plane in a direction approximately normal thereto, the plane including the closest end surface of the stack of sheets to the image pickup device.

摘要： Disclosed are a sheet conveying device and an ink jet recording apparatus capable of conveying a sheet in close contact with a drum without wrinkles. In a sheet conveying mechanism which presses a pressing roller against the front surface of a sheet being conveyed by a conveying drum to bring the sheet into close contact with the outer circumferential surface of the conveying drum, a back tension application device is provided at a position immediately before the sheet enters between the conveying drum and the pressing roller. The back tension application device sucks the front surface of the sheet to apply back tension to the sheet. Therefore, it is possible to prevent slackness of the sheet which enters between the pressing roller and the conveying drum and to prevent the occurrence of wrinkles.

摘要： Flat material sheets are separated by a separating drum rotating on a supporting plate that pulls the sheets separately one after another off a pile and directs the separated sheets toward a subsequent transporting system. The separating drum comprises a stator with sectorial suction channels extending circumferentially and a rotor with suction openings communicating with the suction channels. The communication between the suction openings and suction channels is made in such a way that the sheet material adjacent to the edge running on the supporting plate is attached to the drum by the action of the vacuum earlier than in other areas. This area may be released later than the other areas.

摘要： A methof of and apparatus for feeding the bottom blank of a stack of blanks into adjacent processing machinery wherein the leading edge of a stack is supported adjacent the processing machinery on a support table; the trailing edge of the stack is supported above the support table; subatmospheric pressure is applied to the underside of the bottom blank through perforations in the top of the table leading to a number of selectively operable subchambers beneath the perforated top to urge the bottom blank downward toward the table; and, the bottom blank is advanced into the adjacent processing machinery by a reciprocating feeder bar simultaneously exposing the next bottom blank to subatmospheric pressure which exposure begins at its trailing edge and continues to its leading edge as the blank being fed moves forward. The subchambers can be selectively closed so that selected portions of the underside of the blank can be exposed to subatmospheric pressure. Stop-feed means are provided for lifting the trailing edge of the stack above the feeder bar in the event of a malfunction; the same means can be operated intermittently to skip-feed blanks at one-half the normal rate.

摘要： A device for feeding flat pieces of mail from a stack of mail pieces in edgewise abutment with a registration wall has a feeder for feeding pieces of mail off the stack which is located in front of the first mail piece on the stack. The feeding feeder effects translation of the pieces of mail at a speed V.sub.1 perpendicular to the stack 1. A transfer feeder transfers the piece of mail fed off the stack at a speed V.sub.2. An anti double feed device is disposed between the two feeders. The anti double feed device is a retention device acting on a face of the piece of mail as soon as such piece of mail is taken hold of by the transfer feeder and having a retentive force which is lower than the translation force of the transfer feeder. The speed V.sub.1 of the translation first feeder is lower than the speed V.sub.2 of the transfer feeder.
