摘要： A sheet processing system for automated sheet adjustment includes a sensor system which captures at least a first image of a sheet of print media as the sheet is conveyed on a main transport path between a print media supply module and a marking device of an image rendering module. A control module computes a lateral error for the sheet, based on the captured at least first image, and computes an adjustment based on the computed lateral error. A sheet transport path adjustment mechanism translates a first portion of the main transport path relative to a second portion of the main transport path, based on the computed adjustment.

摘要： A sheet conveying device includable in an image forming apparatus that uses a method of conveying a conveyance target medium and a method of forming an image, includes a position detector, a position adjuster, and circuitry. The position detector is configured to detect a position of a conveyance target medium. Based on a detection of the position of the conveyance target medium by the position detector, the position adjuster moves in at least one of a width direction of the conveyance target medium and a rotation direction of the conveyance target medium within a plane of conveyance of the conveyance target medium and repeatedly adjusts the position of the conveyance target medium while conveying the conveyance target medium. The circuitry changes a conveying speed of the conveyance target medium, according to a change of the position of the conveyance target medium after adjusted by the position adjuster.

摘要： A sheet positioning member is provided on a sheet placing surface in such a way as to be movable in a predetermined first direction. The sheet positioning member includes a moving body, an abutting portion, an operation member, and a cam portion. The moving body moves in the first direction on the sheet placing surface. The abutting portion has an abutting surface that abuts on the side end portion when the sheet positioning member positions the sheet. The operation member is supported by the moving body so as to be pivotable around a support shaft that extends in the first direction, on a side of a back surface of the abutting portion. The cam portion displaces the abutting portion toward the side end portion by being pressed by the operation member in response to a pivoting operation of the operation member.

The control system comprises: a position sensing device; an upstream and/or downstream actuator device for moving the conveying part in transverse direction; and a controller for transmitting control signals, generated by the controller on the basis of the sensor signals, to the upstream and downstream actuator.

摘要： An image forming apparatus reflecting one aspect of the present invention includes a deviation detecting portion, a registration roller, and a leading end detecting portion. The deviation detecting portion detects a deviation amount of the sheet being fed from a reference position in a sheet width direction orthogonal to a feeding direction. The registration roller modifies deviation by swinging the sheet being fed in the sheet width direction in accordance with the deviation amount detected by the deviation detecting portion. The leading end detecting portion is disposed on the downstream side in the sheet feeding direction of the registration roller and detects a leading end of the sheet being fed. The leading end detecting portion detects the leading end of the sheet after deviation is modified by the registration roller.
