摘要： Disclosed herein is a sludge drying system comprising: a system input for receiving a wet sludge stream, wherein the wet sludge stream comprises water and solid material; a first dryer arranged to receive, at an input of the first dryer, the wet sludge stream and to heat the wet sludge stream such that at least part of the water in the wet sludge stream is evaporated to thereby generate evaporate and a partially dry sludge stream, wherein the first dryer is an indirectly heated rotating disc dryer that comprises a first output for outputting evaporate and a second output for outputting the partially dry sludge stream; a second dryer that is an indirectly heated rotating disc dryer and is arranged to receive, at a first input of the second dryer, a stream that is dependent on the partially dry sludge stream output from the first dryer and to receive, at a second input of the second dryer, the evaporate from the first dryer, wherein the second dryer is arranged to use to the received evaporate to indirectly heat the received stream at the first input to thereby generate and output a substantially dry sludge stream; and a system output for outputting at least part of the substantially dry sludge stream from the system.

摘要： Sludge, for example primary sludge or waste activated sludge or both from a wastewater treatment plant, is pre-treated prior to anaerobic digestion. The pre-treatment includes an optional mechanical treatment to reduce the viscosity of the sludge and a biological hydrolysis treatment. The biological hydrolysis treatment may be performed in a series of reactors some of which are maintained at a temperature in the range of 50 to 70° C. The reactors provide a combined residence time in the range of 0.5 to 6 days. Optionally, measurements of the pH of the sludge during or after biological hydrolysis, or the production of biogas from a downstream anaerobic digester, may be considered in adjusting the temperature of one or more of the biological hydrolysis reactors.

摘要： The present invention relates to a method of treating sludge containing phosphorus, ammonia and magnesium and enhancing the dewaterability of the sludge. The sludge is directed into a biological fermenter operated under anaerobic conditions. By controlling the temperature of the sludge in the fermenter or the hydraulic retention time of the sludge in the fermenter, phosphorus, ammonia and magnesium is released from the solids in the sludge into a liquid forming a part of the sludge. Sludge from the fermenter is subjected to a solids-liquid separation process that produces a concentrated sludge and a liquid. The concentrated sludge or separated solids is directed to a thermal hydrolysis reactor that thermally hydrolyzes the concentrated sludge. After thermally hydrolyzing the concentrated sludge, the concentrated sludge is directed to an anaerobic digester that anaerobically digests the concentrated sludge.

摘要： There is disclosed a method of producing a soil remediant from liquid organic waste material in which the liquid organic waste material is concurrently pasteurised and digested by thermophilic aerobic digestion in the liquid phase in a single digester vessel. The organic waste material in the digester is maintained continuously at a temperature of at least 70° C. for at least an hour and the—liquid organic waste material comprises at least 70% water and can be pumped. After a period of at least an hour a small amount of pasteurised organic waste material is removed and a corresponding amount of fresh organic waste material is added to the single digester vessel such that the temperature is maintained in a comfort zone of the thermophilic bacteria. In a preferred embodiment the thermophilic aerobic digestion is facilitated by micro-organisms including crenarchaeota. The liquid organic waste material can be combined with a microporous adsorbent. Also disclosed is a soil remediant comprising a microporous adsorbent and liquid organic waste material from the novel method. The microporous adsorbent may be a volcaniclastic sedimentary rock or diatomite or of vegetable origin such as biochar. The microporous adsorbent may be a powder or a granular material and may have particle sizes up to 2000 microns.

摘要： A preparation method for a novel composite anode based on nitrogen-doped charcoal of sludge and porous volcanic, and a microbial fuel cell, relating to the technical field of resource utilization of new materials, new energy and wastewater. Active sludge is prepared into porous nitrogen-doped charcoal by using a nitrogen high-temperature pyrolysis baking method; and then, surface minerals are removed by using an acidification method to improve the electrical conductivity of the charcoal; finally, surface charcoal loading is performed by taking volcanic granules as a carrier to prepare and form nitrogen-doped charcoal granules on a volcanic surface. The novel granules have high porosity, high electrical conductivity and large specific surface area, and fully meet the performance requirement of the anode material of the microbial fuel cell. The anode of the novel nitrogen-doped porous charcoal can increase the loading capacity of electricity-producing bacteria and microorganisms of the anode of the microbial fuel cell, and improve the conversion rate of biomass energy in wastewater; by virtue of low-resistance characteristics, the electron transfer efficiency is also improved, and finally, the power of the microbial fuel cell is enhanced, so that both wastewater treatment and recycling and efficient biological power generation are achieved.
