The portable traffic message sign may be configured to provide instructions, warnings, alerts, and/or other information for travelers. In some embodiments, the portable traffic message sign may be configured to be adaptive in response to sensed weather, traffic, and/or other conditions. For example, the portable traffic message sign may have a controller determining suitable message content to display, the message content reflecting a present traffic and/or weather condition. Moreover, the message sign controller may select, based on a speed of travel of traffic, words, phrases, and/or pages to display the message content such that the message may be perceivable by oncoming travelers. The controller may control height, angle of rotation, and/or other orientation parameters of the message sign toward a point of aim in order that the message may be perceivable by travelers.

摘要： A continuous horizontal road-marking tape is described. The road-marking tape includes Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) or high intensity microlamps, solar cells and retroreflecting elements. The LEDs may be double and focused for better visibility, their light is pulsing at a regular speed or at an emergency fast speed. The road-marking tape balances the solar energy captured by its solar cells with the emitted light employed to signal or warn motorists. Also described is the use of an emergency fast pulsing for signalling an emergency or the presence of ice, and the use of the tape for controlling situations where a single lane of roadway must alternatively pass traffic from two different directions. Activation of the light emitting sources is by sensing light from headlights of oncoming cars or by traffic lights.

摘要： A reflective pavement marker for a roadway includes a body having a bottom adapted to be secured to the roadway and at least one a reflector on the body. The reflector includes an outer face for receiving light and an inner face comprising a plurality of light reflecting elements for receiving and reflecting the light back through the outer face. The reflector comprises a light transmitting and thermochromatic polymer adapted to transition at a predetermined transition temperature so as to change the color of the light reflected by the reflector depending on the temperature of the polymer. The predetermined transition temperature can be selected so that the color change of the light reflected by the reflector indicates freezing or near freezing road conditions.

摘要： An apparatus for detecting and for optically indicating from afar the temperature condition of an upper layer of a road surface includes a thermally conductive temperature sensor positioned within the upper layer of the road surface to sense the temperature thereof. A temperature indicator is positioned on a post above the road surface. The temperature indicator includes a liquid crystal agent having a first optically perceivable condition substantially at a temperature above the freezing point of water and a second optically perceivable condition substantially at a temperature below the freezing point of water. A thermally conductive connector thermally connects the temperature sensor and the liquid crystal agent, such that the temperature sensed by the sensor is conveyed to the liquid crystal agent, whereby the liquid crystal agent exhibits the respective condition thereof representative of the temperature of the road surface.
