摘要： A pile-driver assembly for driving a pile into the ground, preferably offshore, and a method of driving a pile into the ground using the pile-driver assembly is disclosed. The assembly includes a casing defining a chamber, the chamber being configured to house a fluid. The assembly further includes a positioning element configured to position the casing at or on the pile, wherein at least a portion of the positioning element is positioned between the chamber and the pile. The assembly further includes actuating means, wherein actuation of the actuating means displaces the chamber relative to the positioning element, such that the chamber moves away from the pile, and wherein the actuating means is configured to release the chamber for displacement towards the pile such that a force is exerted by the chamber on the positioning member, to controllably drive the pile into the ground.

The assembly further includes actuating means, wherein actuation of the actuating means displaces the chamber relative to the positioning element, such that the chamber moves away from the pile, and wherein the actuating means is configured to release the chamber for displacement towards the pile such that a force is exerted by the chamber on the positioning member, to controllably drive the pile into the ground.

摘要： A double-acting hydraulic impact hammer includes a drop weight and an inner hydraulic piston. The drop weight is arranged to be driven in an upward and downward direction and the drop weight acts on a pile during its downward motion. The piston has a voided internal area defining a piston volume which is arranged to receive a piston rod and along which the piston extends and retracts axially. The piston volume is in sealed hydraulic communication with the hollow rod volume to form a first volume which changes size as the piston moves along the piston rod whereby the application of hydraulic pressure to the first volume biases the piston towards its extended position. The hammer includes a bore and a collar. The collar forms an outer piston having a working surface which when exposed to hydraulic fluid has sufficient surface area to lift the piston and the drop weight.

摘要： A sheet pile retaining wall system employing corrugated sheet piles not requiring temporary shoring to be used when widening and/or stabilization of existing highway embankment. The wall system provides a front face wall having a plurality of resistance fins perpendicularly extending therefrom via three-way connectors. The fin sheet piles first include a brace fin sheet for reducing stresses in the front face wall, then a series of additional resistance fin sheets terminating at an elevation below the face wall for accommodating a pipe drainage/utility cradle. Between the slope of the existing embankment, a temporary excavation bench, an excavation backslope, and the higher front face wall is reinforced concrete backfill for pre-stressing the wall system when fluid—and, when set, optionally engaging supplementary structural features within the set concrete backfill such as dowels/tie down anchors.
