摘要： An engine cooling system is provided, which includes a water jacket through which coolant flows, a heat exchanger that cools the coolant, a bypass passage that bypasses the heat exchanger and recirculates the coolant to the water jacket, a first radiator passage that recirculates the coolant to the water jacket via the heat exchanger, a flow control device installed at a location where a coolant passage branches into the bypass passage and the first radiator passage, a second radiator passage that bypasses the flow control device and is connected to the first radiator passage, and a thermally-actuated valve installed in the second radiator passage. The flow control device performs a water flow control to adjust a coolant amount flowing into the water jacket by adjusting a coolant amount flowing through the bypass passage. The coolant flows into the first radiator passage through the second radiator passage, when the valve opens.

摘要： A temperature sensor for a first fluid senses a temperature of the first fluid downstream of a heat exchanger. A supply for a second fluid changes a temperature of the first fluid. The supply for the second fluid passes through the heat exchanger. A valve is positioned upstream of the said heat exchanger on the supply for the second fluid, and controls a flow rate of the second fluid diverted into a bypass line compared to a flow rate of the second fluid directed through the heat exchanger, with the three-way valve controlled by a control in response to feedback from said temperature sensor. The valve changes the respective flow rates delivered into the bypass line and through the said heat exchanger in a non-linear manner with a change in valve position. A manned spaceship is also disclosed.

摘要： A method of sealing a coolant control valve of a cooling system for a power device which generates heat as a by-product of operation. The cooling system includes a pump, a heat exchanger, and coolant. The valve includes: an internal channel in fluid communication with the exchanger; a sealing package in contact a surface of the coolant control valve and bounding a portion of the cooling system and the channel; and a rotary element in the channel and rotatable to open and close the valve. The portion is bounded in part by the valve and the sealing package. The method includes: starting-up the device; creating a pressure differential of at least 0.2 bar between the coolant in the portion of the cooling system, and the coolant in the internal channel; rotating, using a motor, the rotary element; opening the valve; and pumping, using the pump, the coolant through the internal channel.

In accordance with such a configuration, a plurality of valve parts having different axial directions can be seated in one housing to be connected to each other, so that manufacturability and valve control efficiency can be improved.
