摘要： Provided are systems and methods for transport vehicles using recyclable metallic fuels. The method includes capturing fuel products, including a metal oxide and unburnt fuel from the combustion of a metallic fuel, storing the unburnt metallic fuel and the fuel products, and recycling the metal oxide to recreate the metallic fuel and/or byproducts. Heat generated by the combustion and/or sintering of the metallic fuel may be transferred to a working fluid to drive the production of electricity and/or to provide propulsion in land, air and water vehicles and spacecraft. Furthermore, the thermal energy harvesting system may be used to generate electricity. The system includes a thermal (heat) engine having an induction heating assembly for heating the metallic fuel. Processes for complete combustion of the metallic fuel and recycling the metallic fuel in a sintering loop are described.

One of the drive and driven assemblies comprises a mechanism with a shaft supporting first and second pulleys, with the first and second pulleys associated with the first and second belts, respectively. The first pulley is selectively engaged with the shaft in response to an engine speed being below a threshold value, and the second pulley is selectively engaged with the shaft in response to the engine speed being above the threshold value.

摘要： A method for maximizing a fuel efficiency of an engine includes the steps of providing an engine including a plurality of cylinder bores formed therein, disposing at least one first permanent magnet on a piston and at least one second permanent magnet on the throw, disposing a plurality of electromagnets in the engine block, selectively attracting and repelling the at least one first and second permanent magnets with a magnetic field of the electromagnets to affect a motion of the piston in respect of the engine block and deactivating and reactivating the plurality of cylinder bores in a desired sequence by stopping a flow of fuel thereto and a flow of electrical energy to a spark plug for a deactivated cylinder bore without deactivating an intake valve or an exhaust valve for the deactivated cylinder bore.

摘要： An in-line multicylinder internal combustion engine comprising an engine block including a cylinder crank housing having disposed therein a plurality of approximately horizontally disposed cylinders and a cylinder head mounted on the cylinder crank housing. An approximately horizontally disposed crankshaft is disposed in the cylinder crank housing for reciprocably displacing pistons in the respective cylinders, and an exhaust system is provided which begins at an underside of the cylinder head. A first housing cover is disposed on the cylinder head and extends in a longitudinal direction of the crankshaft with a second cover being disposed on the cylinder crank housing in an area of the crankshaft and extenging in a longitudinal direction thereof. The first and second housing covers each have essentially smooth lateral outer housing walls, with a cooling arrangement being mounted above an upper forward edge of the engine block. At least one first auxiliary unit for the engine is disposed on top of the engine block behind the cooling arrangement and a housing part is connected to and disposed below the cylinder crank housing. At least one second auxiliary unit for the engine is accommodated by the housing part. A part of the exhaust gas system extends next to the housing part with such part of the exhaust gas system being shaped as a housing member.

摘要： A device for automobiles for preventing air contamination by forcing compressed air to an engine exhaust manifold for reburning the incompletely burned components of the engine exhaust gas. The device comprises a compact air-pump-alternator consisting of an air pump portion and an alternator portion connected in series with the air pump along a common shaft. The air pump delivers compressed air generated thereby into the alternator for cooling. The compressed air, which is heated by cooling the alternator, is forced into the engine exhaust manifold for effectively reburning the incompletely burned components.
