摘要： An electrical submersible well pump assembly has first and second permanent magnet motors. The first motor drive shaft is connected to a coupling that has internal splines for receiving an externally splined end of the second motor drive shaft. Alignment devices rotationally align magnetic poles of the first drive shaft with the magnetic poles of the second drive shaft prior to securing the housings of the first and second motors together. The alignment devices may be a coupling irregularity in the internal splines that is at a controlled orientation relative to the magnetic poles of the first shaft and a shaft irregularity in the external splines that prevents the second drive shaft from fully engaging the coupling unless the shaft irregularity is in a specified rotational position relative to the coupling irregularity.

摘要： A single-stage compressor device includes a housing and a rotating group with a shaft and a compressor wheel. The compressor wheel includes a front face and a back face. The front face cooperates with the housing to define a compressor flow path. A motor drives rotation of the rotating group within the housing. Furthermore, the compressor device includes a bleed system fluidly connected to the compressor flow path and configured to receive bleed fluid from the compressor flow path. The bleed system includes a bleed passage. At least a portion of the bleed passage is cooperatively defined by the back face of the compressor wheel and an opposing surface of the housing. The bleed system is configured to pass bleed air from the bleed passage, thereby alleviating thrust loading of the compressor wheel on the rotating group.

摘要： A centrifugal well pump assembly has a non-rotating diffuser between upper and lower rotating impellers. The upper impeller has a cylindrical skirt on a lower side that rotates within a diffuser receptacle. The lower impeller has a cylindrical balance ring on an upper side that rotates within a diffuser cavity. Impeller sleeves are bonded to the skirt and balance ring. Diffuser sleeves are bonded to the diffuser receptacle and cavity. The diffuser sleeves are of a harder material than the impeller sleeves. Each of the impeller sleeves has upper, intermediate and lower circumferential rows of inserts. Each insert has a face flush with the impeller sleeve and is in sliding engagement with one of the diffuser sleeves. The inserts in the intermediate row may be rotationally staggered relative to the inserts in the upper and lower rows to create serpentine flow paths for well fluid leakage.

The second pump is installed in the second mounting hole and sealedly coupled with the second mounting hole. A working liquid in the fluid channel is transferred through the first pump and the second pump sequentially. Even if one of the first pump and the second pump is damaged, the other of the first pump and the second pump is normally operated to move the working liquid in the fluid channel.

The cooling method can be aided by a heat exchanger operatively communicating with the turbomachine.
