    • An air damper is provided which can exhibit an appropriate braking force in accordance with an input load.There is provided an air damper including: a tubular cylinder 1 in which both end portions are opened; a piston 2 which moves within the cylinder 1; and a cap 3 which closes a one-end opening of the cylinder 1, wherein the cylinder 1 has an annular seal surface 4 formed on a circumferential surface of the one-end opening, wherein the cap is mounted on the one-end opening side of the cylinder 1 so as to be moveable or deformable along an axial direction of the cylinder 1, wherein the cap is brought into contact with or separated from the seal surface 4 in accordance with a pressure change due to a movement of the piston 2 within the cylinder 1, and wherein a first orifice 14 is opened in a base plate 12 of the cap, characterized in that: a second orifice having an inlet area smaller than the first orifice is defined between the cap 3 and the cylinder 1 during an operation of the first orifice 14.

    • In a front fork in a two-wheeled vehicle or motor vehicle, a partition wall member sectioning an oil reservoir chamber into upper end lower sides is provided in an upper portion of a hollow pipe. A center hole and an expansion and compression common flow passage are formed in the partition wall member. The expansion and compression common flow passage is provided with a deflection valve in a state of being supported in an inner periphery, and a check valve in a state of being supported in an outer periphery, in such a manner that an outer periphery of the deflection valve and an inner periphery of the check valve are partially overlapped. A first spring supporting the deflection valve in a back surface and a second spring supporting the check valve in a back surface are provided. A small gap is provided in the overlapping portion between the deflection valve and the check valve.

    • This invention relates to a pneumatic power cylinder dashpot piston which formed of an elastomeric cylinder and a sleeve and having a space between the interior wall of the cylinder and the exterior wall of the sleeve, and the space is filled with a fluid. The piston is connected to a power shaft of a power cylinder. The sleeve is corrugated and is formed integrally with the cylinder so as to prevent the escape of the fluid through a joint. The interior cylinder wall is tapered from the center thereof in opposite directions so that the cylinder, engaged by a disk on the power shaft, gradually comes into contact with an end portion of the cylinder whereby the corrugations of the sleeve are compressed at one end and the other corrugations are straightened.

    • A volume spring element 152 is located inside the piston 10 which is open to the cylinder 20. The spring element 152 is surrounded by hydraulic liquid on all sides except at its surface 1521 at which the element 152 is attached to the piston 10. When the hydraulic pressure increases, the volume spring element is compressed thereby decreasing its volume. When the hydraulic pressure decreases, the volume spring element expands again. When the hydraulic cylinder is closed off by a valve, then the hydraulic liquid in the piston 10 and in the cylinder 20 is disposed in a closed-off space or chamber. Axial pressures on the cylinder cause a pressure increase in the hydraulic medium. This causes the volume of the volume spring element to be decreased and the piston to be moved axially by the amount corresponding to the decrease of the equally large oil volume in the piston. With the reduction of the hydraulic pressure, the volume spring element expands again causing an axial movement of the piston in a direction out of the cylinder 20. The volume spring element effects the shock absorption of a saddle support which can be hydraulically positioned.

    • A hydraulic shock absorber including an elongated body, closed at first and second opposite ends thereof, the elongated body containing a quantity of liquid. A piston is mounted for axial movement within the body and has longitudinally extending holes therein causing communication between first and second opposite chambers defined, respectively, in the body between the piston and the first and second ends of the body. The piston is able to be activated, in one direction, by a thrust rod extending axially within the first chamber of the body and is pushed, in the other direction, by a compression spring lodged in the second chamber of the body. The shock absorber further includes an internal coaxial bushing affixed to the second end of the body, extending over one part of the length of the body, in the direction of the first end of the body, and in which the piston is lodged freely sliding, the second chamber being defined in the bushing between the piston and the second end of the body. A deformable tubular membrane is further provided which includes a first part engaged with the bushing, so as to be tightly held between the bushing and the body, and a second part extending freely beyond the internal end of the bushing, in the direction of the first end of the body. Further, a thrust rod freely rests, by a first end, against the central part of the piston, which extends axially, from the piston, in the direction of the first end of the body and to the second end to which the end of the second part of the deformable tubular membrane is affixed which defines, jointly with the bushing, the thrust rod and the piston, the first chamber of the body, and means for guidance of the second end of the thrust rod within the body.
