摘要： Systems and methods for generating and a controller for controlling generation of geothermal power in an organic Rankine cycle (ORC) operation to thereby supply electrical power to one or more of in-field operational equipment, a grid power structure, and an energy storage device. In an embodiment, during hydrocarbon production, a temperature of a flow of heated fluid from a source or working fluid may be determined. If the temperature is above a vaporous phase change threshold of the working fluid, heat exchanger valves may be opened to divert flow of heated fluid to heat exchangers to facilitate heat transfer from the flow of wellhead fluid to working fluid through the heat exchangers, thereby to cause the working fluid to change from a liquid to vapor, the vapor to cause a generator to generate electrical power via rotation of an expander.

摘要： A ladder-structural gravity-assisted-heat-pipe geothermal energy recovery system without liquid-accumulation effect, comprises a ladder-structural gravity-assisted heat pipe, a condenser, and a liquid tank. The ladder-structural gravity-assisted heat pipe comprises a return pipe, an outer pipe and an inner pipe. The return pipe is provided in a space between the outer pipe and the inner pipe and communicated with the liquid tank, and the space between the outer pipe and the inner pipe is divided to form a ladder structure. A liquid working medium flows from the liquid tank through the return pipe into each section sequentially, absorbs heat from a high-temperature rock through a wall of the outer pipe, vaporizes into a gaseous working medium, gets into the inner pipe, and rises to the condenser to condense and flows to the liquid tank to circulate. Such design greatly improves the heat transfer efficiency in geothermal energy recovery using ultra-long heat pipes.

摘要： Wellbore synthesis techniques are disclosed suitable for use in geothermal applications. Embodiments are provided where open hole drilled wellbores are sealed while drilling to form an impervious layer at the wellbore/formation interface. The techniques may be chemical, thermal, mechanical, biological and are fully intended to irreversibly damage the formation in terms of the permeability thereof. With the permeability negated, the wellbore may be used to create a closed loop surface to surface geothermal well operable in the absence of well casing for maximizing thermal transfer to a circulating working fluid. Formulations for the working and drilling fluids are disclosed.

摘要： A geothermal heat mining system can operate within a single primary borehole in a geothermal reservoir. A primary fluid loop can include a cold working fluid line leading into the primary borehole and a hot working fluid line coming out of the primary borehole. A secondary fluid loop can be located down the primary borehole, where the secondary fluid loop is in thermal contact with the geothermal reservoir. A downhole heat mining device can control a rate of heat transfer from the secondary fluid loop to the primary fluid loop by selectively controlling fluid flow through the primary fluid loop, the secondary fluid loop, or both.

摘要： A geothermal system transfers heat between the earth and a target. The system includes a containment vessel having an interior volume and a valve being selectively opened and closed to supply a first fluid to the interior volume of the containment vessel so that heat is transferred between the earth and the first fluid. An interior heat exchange line is located in the interior volume of the containment vessel. A second fluid is located in the heat exchange line to transfer heat between the first fluid and the target. A pump for circulates the second fluid through the interior heat exchange line. The system also includes a low temperature activated switch configured to open the valve in response to a temperature of the first fluid in the interior volume of the containment vessel dropping below a preset temperature, and a high temperature activated switch configured to open the valve in response to the temperature of the first fluid in the interior volume of the containment vessel rising above a preset maximum value.

摘要： A geothermal power plant and method of operating a geothermal power plant in which control over the creation and growth of fractures in the geothermal formation is achieved. A downhole pressure gauge (14) with a high data acquisition rate is located in the injection or production well. Pressure changes in the well are recorded as a pressure trace and transmitted to the surface as data. The data is analysed to determine fracture parameters of the geothermal formation. The pump rate of the well is then varied in response to the calculated fracture parameter(s).

摘要： The present disclosure provides a hydrothermal geothermal development method of multilateral well closed circulation, comprises the steps of: dividing a geothermal reservoir into single layers according to geothermal reservoir geological conditions, wherein an upper single layer with a lower water temperature and a higher permeability is taken as a recharge layer, and a lower single layer with a higher water temperature is taken as a production layer; tripping a production casing, and injecting cement for well cementation; performing casing lateral windowing in a vertical hole corresponding to the recharge layer, and drilling several branch radial horizontal holes into the recharge layer; performing casing lateral windowing in the vertical hole corresponding to the production layer, and drilling several branch radial horizontal holes into the production layer; tripping a guiding pipe into the production casing of the vertical hole, with a depth thereof reaching a well section between the recharge layer and the production layer; tripping a packer at a guiding shoe to isolate the guiding pipe and an annulus of the casing from each other, so as to prevent geothermal fluid of the recharge layer and the production layer from being communicated with each other in the vertical hole.

摘要： Techniques are provided for extracting geothermal energy, by providing salt into a well shaft that ends in a chamber in the Earth surrounded by a source of geothermal energy. The salt melts and heats up to the temperature within the chamber. The hot molten salt is then extracted and the heat from the molten salt is used as a source of energy to generate electricity or drive an industrial process. The salt can be re-used once the heat is extracted in a closed-loop system. According to some techniques, the salt is conveyed down the well by a pneumatic conveyer system or in other cases by using a mechanical system, such as a screw drive. Once returned to the surface, the molten salt can be used to heat graphite blocks for energy storage or be stored and transported to remote locations to extract the heat energy.
