摘要： A firearm system is provided. A pump-action firearm, such as a shotgun, includes a buffer attached to a trigger housing. The buffer consists of a resilient or semi-resilient material and is positioned such as to face towards an opening the receiver in which the magazine tube is partially received. The buffer includes a contoured bottom surface and an upper surface, configured in a way which shortens the space available within an opening of a receiver while accommodating the loading of shells into a magazine tube. Upon moving a shell into the opening, such as by pumping the action, the shell impacts the buffer, which stabilizes the shell prior to being lifted by an elevators. For shorter shells, this reduces the risk of a jamming event. For longer shells, the buffer is configured to compress to accommodate the additional length.

摘要： A shotgun has right and left magazines from which ammunition may be fed to the action using a selector mounted on a movable fore-end chassis whose motion cycles the action. An interrupter prevents the selector from switching between magazines unless the action is in battery with the fore-end chassis fully forward toward the muzzle end of the shotgun. Respective right and left outer cut-offs on the magazines cooperate with an inner cut-off to ensure proper coordination of ammunition feed as the action is cycled by motion of the fore-end chassis. The outer cut-offs are also manually operable to permit removal of ammunition from the magazines without cycling the action.

Embodiments include a universal adapter end cap configured to be threaded onto the end of a shotgun magazine, the universal adapter end cap including an opposite end adapted to secure an accessory (e.g., shotgun choke tube). Accordingly, embodiments enables an operator to stow and carry a second unused choke tube at the end of the shotgun magazine. Some embodiments of the universal adapter end cap include a threaded opening that enables the choke tube to be threaded into the threaded opening. Some embodiments provide threads constructed from flexible material to enable both threading and push insertion of an accessory into the universal adapter end cap.

The boss may have a lower cylindrical surface portion operable to contact a lower portion of the magazine tube adjacent to the rear aperture. The boss may be a cylindrical body.

A switch that operates the accessory may be located on the pump grip of the shotgun. The switch may be connected to the accessory with a wiring harness that may extend through an opening in the tube. The opening may be elongated so that the wiring harness can move with the pump grip when the pump grip is cycled by an operator.

The rocker/spoon of the cartridge feed device can be removed from the intermediate chamber between the tubular magazine and the lock (13) and an interchangeable cartridge magazine (16) can be inserted in the empty intermediate chamber (21). In a first embodiment, the rocker (3) can be displaced from a front position into a rear position. In a second embodiment, the rocker (3) can be pivoted from an upper, approximately horizontal position into a lower, approximately perpendicular position. In a third embodiment, the rocker (3) is surrounded by a box, which together with the rocker can be removed from the weapon, in a similar manner to the interchangeable magazine.
