    • If a pitch bend event is included in a note event, one tone to be sounded in accordance with the note event continuously varies in pitch from a note pitch designated by the note event to another note pitch, as a result of control response to the pitch bend event. For sounding of a note based on an accompaniment pattern, harmony note or the like, the pitch corresponding to the note event is converted in accordance with a designated chord, and thus, not only the note pitch corresponding to the note event but also the other note pitch responsive to the pitch bend event should be converted appropriately. Thus, arrangements are made for accurately determining the pitch-bend-responsive other note pitch that is not identifiable from the note pitch indicated by the note event itself and converting the other note pitch in accordance with a designated chord.

    • A fingering guide displaying apparatus is to guide a player or a learner how to finger wind musical instruments in playing. As most of wind musical instruments are transposing instruments, the fingering patterns are indicated for the respective notes on the music scores notated in the respective tonalities which are unique to the respective instruments. The apparatus stores a fingering pattern database representing fingering patterns for the respective available notes of various transposing instruments in the respective instrument tonalities, and a transposition value database representing, for each of the instrument tonalities, the pitch difference between the instrument tonality and the reference tonality. When music playing data expressed in the reference tonality are used for playing a transposing instrument, the playing data are converted to express the notes in the instrument tonality using the pitch difference value, and fingering patterns are also indicated in the instrument tonality.

    • A method to alter the pitch of a portion of a music keyboard by a transposition, including: upon a prescribed function key being activated to provide the transposition function for the portion, and upon a music key of the music keyboard being activated; determining if the transposition function has been activated and, if the music key is in the portion and checking a lookup table and altering a note corresponding to the music key by the transposition. Also disclosed is a method for enabling a bending of at least one note produced by a musical keyboard such that, upon a bending function being activated and a range for the bending being selected and set, and upon at least one music key of the music keyboard being pressed by a user to cause the at least one note to be produced and the bending function being instructed, bending the at least one note in accordance with the selected and set range for the bending. Keyboards for performing the methods are also disclosed.
