    • A disk holding device is for use with a disk having a center hole. A disk holding mechanism with coupling levers is movable between a holding position and a release position, for engagement with an edge of the center hole when in the holding position, and for coming away from the edge when in the release position. A solenoid shifts the disk holding mechanism, to hold the disk by setting the disk holding mechanism in the holding position, and to enable loading or unloading of the disk by setting the disk holding mechanism in the release position. A separating projection is opposed to the edge when inserted in the center hole, for receiving the edge while the disk holding mechanism moves to the release position, to ensure separation of the disk from the disk holding mechanism.

    • A disc device includes a carrier which retains a plurality of discs in a stacked state so as to separate one disc from the retained plurality of discs above a tray ejected from arbitrary one of the disc drives, and to place the separated disc on the tray. The carrier includes a spindle unit inserted into a center hole formed in each of the discs, a first hold claw portion which holds an inner circumferential portion of the disc, and a second hold claw portion provided at a position higher than the first hold claw portion by a substantially thickness of one disc, the second hold claw portion holding an inner circumferential portion of the disc. One disc from the retained discs is separated by shifting the first and second hold claw portions back and forth between an inner side and an outer side of the spindle unit.

    • The tray braking device includes a tray, a tray motor, a sliding plate and a buffer structure. The tray is used for carrying a disc. The tray motor is used for driving the tray to a finish position from a first position. The sliding plate is disposed on a base. The buffer structure is disposed between the sliding plate and the base. When the tray moves to a second position from the first position, the tray moves at a first speed, and the second position is positioned between the first position and the finish position. When the tray moves towards the finish position from the second position, the tray drives the sliding plate to move, such that the buffer structure leans between the sliding plate and the base and generates deformation, making the tray move at a second speed slower than the first speed.

    • There is provided a slim type optical disc drive. The slim type optical disc drive includes a cabinet including an upper chasse and a lower chasse, a tray to be introduced to an inside of the cabinet or withdrawn to an outside of the cabinet, a sub-printed circuit board (PCB) provided in the tray, a main PCB provided on one side of an internal rear surface of the lower chasse, and a cable divided into a first part and a second part based on a line folded in a direction that does not run parallel with the wiring lines to electrically connect the main PCB and the sub-PCB. The second part connected to the sub-PCB does not run parallel with the first part connected to the main PCB in a state where the cable is folded but floats in accordance with a movement of the tray.
