摘要： A methodology, for night vision equipment, includes enabling an automatic brightness control (ABC) procedure for a light intensifier having a photocathode that automatically selects a voltage to be applied to the photocathode, sensing current being drawn by the anode, when the current being drawn by the anode exceeds a predetermined threshold, shutting down the photocathode, disabling the ABC procedure, and storing, as a stored voltage value, a value of a voltage that had been selected by the ABC procedure when the current exceeded the predetermined threshold. After a first predetermined period of time, applying a voltage to the photocathode in accordance with the stored voltage value, and after a second predetermined period of time re-enabling the ABC procedure and selecting the stored voltage value as the voltage to be applied to the photocathode.

摘要： Apparatus and method are provided for using a multi-element field emission cathode in a color cathode ray tube. The field emission cathode may have from four to ten field emission arrays linearly arranged. The arrays are preferably formed from carbon-based material. An electron gun assembly focuses electron beams from each array on to a phosphor stripe or dot on the screen of the cathode ray tube. Deflection apparatus moves the beam from each field emission array according to clock signals. Clock signals also turn on or turn off voltage to contacts controlling electron current from the array. Values of voltage applied, determined by a video signal, determine the intensity of electron current from each array, which controls the intensity of the light emitted by each color stripe or dot of phosphor on the phosphor screen.

摘要： A device for driving a directly heated cathode of a cathode ray tube eliminating a delay due to inductance of a transformer. A transformer that produces the heater-heating signal voltage applied to the cathode includes a secondary coil divided into first and second coils. The voltage induced in the first coil is used for the heater-heating voltage and the signal induced in the second coil is synchronized with the voltage induced in the first coil and used as a bias voltage for turning on and off a switching element in synchronization with the heater-heating voltage. The switching element turns on only when the heater-heating signal voltage is applied to a control terminal of the switching element.
