摘要： An insulation termination assembly comprises an insulation tube, an annular bottom plate, and a tail assembly. The insulation tube has an inlet end, an outlet end opposite to the inlet end, and an inner space filled with an insulation liquid. The annular bottom plate is mounted at the inlet end of the insulation tube. The tail assembly comprises an insulation connection tube mounted on the annular bottom plate and a shield tail tube connected to the insulation connection tube. A cable joint of a cable is introduced into the inner space of the insulation tube from the inlet end of the insulation tube after passing through the shield tail tube and the insulation connection tube.

摘要： A method for the user to control the number of skirts used in a high voltage electrical cable termination is provided. The termination contains a terminated electrical cable having a conductor, exposed cable insulation, and exposed cable semiconductor. The method has the following steps: (1) providing a modular skirt system comprising a skirt disposed on a pre-stretched tube, the combination preloaded on a cold shrink tube; and (2) delivering the modular skirt system to the exposed cable insulation by removing the cold shrink tube so as to contract the skirt and pre-stretched tube on to the cable.

摘要： A stop joint for a pair of electric cables having fluid under pressure therein in which the fluid impermeable pipe or shield around the cable, which is spaced at its end from the bared conductor end to expose the cable insulation, is connected to the connector for interconnecting the cable ends by a multi-part stop tube having an intermediate portion of insulating material and a pair of end portions bonded to respective ends of the intermediate portion, the end portions being made of an insulating material rendered conductive by the addition of conductive material or of insulating material having a conductive layer thereon for forming electrodes for electrical stress distribution purposes. The electrodes have substantially the same coefficient of expansion as the material of the intermediate tube portion to prevent separation of the end portions from the intermediate portion with temperature changes.

摘要： A method and means are disclosed for dissipating heat in a high voltage cable termination which includes a plurality of axially stacked annular capacitor elements disposed coaxially over the prepared end of a high voltage cable and disposed within an annular insulator so that a temperature gradient normally exists radially across the capacitor elements. A thermally and electrically conductive annular disc is interposed between each adjacent pair of stacked capacitors for dissipating heat from the area inwardly of the capacitors to the area outwardly thereof. The conductive discs enable a significantly greater increase in terminator ampacity, and may be employed in both AC and DC high voltage systems.
