摘要： Multifunctional coating films that can be applied in liquid form are provided for compressing, sealing, covering and preserving surfaces. The films include a composition of polysaccharide materials and/or homo- or heteroglycan water-soluble polysaccharide derivatives, polyol spacers, and crosslinkers with carbonyl or carboxylic function(s). As-applied, the composition is water-soluble and reactive, but after hardening it is capable of absorbing water or swelling, impermeable to water vapour, stable against water and UV and can be biologically degraded in a controlled manner. By reacting polysaccharide materials, polysaccharide derivatives and polyol spacers with cross linkers having carbonyl or carboxylic function(s), mechanically stable flexible films are obtained, which retain their mechanical properties up to a foreign material content of 80%. The films can swell in a controlled manner and can bind up to 75% water relative to their dry weight, corresponding to the degree of crosslinking and the spacer that is used.

摘要： The present disclosure is directed to methods for producing a very low viscosity cellulose ether having little or no discoloration and cellulose ether products resulting therefrom. The method includes contacting a cellulose ether with an oxidizing agent and an acid to form a mixture. The mixture is then heated and neutralized. The method includes adding a second oxidizing agent to the mixture and forming a very low viscosity cellulose ether having a viscosity from 1.2 cP to less than 2 cP. The very low viscosity ether may also have an APHA color value of 1 to 100.

摘要： Solutions of cellulose or cellulose ethers in solvent containing triethylheptylammonium chloride, triethyloctylammonium chloride, triethylhexylammonium acetate, triethylheptylammonium acetate, triethyloctylammonium acetate, triethylnonylammonium acetate and/or triethyldecylammonium acetate are provided. The solvent may further include up to 70 wt % of at least one organic solvent, with acetone being the preferred organic solvent. The solution can be formed into a paste for removing paint from wood or metal surfaces. The cellulose (ether) solution can also serve as a reaction medium in which the cellulose and/or the cellulose ether are chemically modified. Finally, the cellulose (ether) solution can be processed into cellulosic shaped articles.

Processes for resolubilizing solid oxidized carbohydrate gum comprising combining aqueous solvent with the oxidized carbohydrate gum under conditions effective to give a resolubilized composition a pH less than about 7.
