    • The present invention relates to a method for regulating a pressure in a hydraulic system for operating at least one actuator in a subsea installation, having a fluid supply line (102) connected to a source of pressurized fluid (101) at a remote location delivering fluid at a constant pressure to the subsea installation, comprising first and second control valves (103, 105) controlled by an electronic control unit (107), and at least one pressure sensor (106) and an accumulator (104) arranged between the first and second control valve (103, 105), where the pressure in the fluid supply line (102′) to the actuator is regulated by regulating the pressure in the accumulator (104) by adding fluid from the source of pressurized fluid (101) through the first control valve (103) if the pressure is too low or releasing pressure through the second control valve (105) to a fluid return line (120) if the pressure is too high and thereby establishing the desired pressure for operating the actuator. The invention also relates to a device for performing the method.

    • A hydraulic accumulator for use in a drill string having a fluid passage for supply of fluid to a hydraulic drill string tool is provided. The accumulator comprises a body provided with connecting means for connecting the accumulator to the drill string and an expansion chamber in fluid communication the fluid passage when the accumulator is connected to the drill string by the connecting means. The expansion chamber is expandable between a first volume and a second volume which is larger than the first volume. Further, the expansion chamber is provided with means for moving the expansion chamber from the first to the second volume upon a fluid pressure increase in the fluid passage and for moving the expansion chamber from the second to the first volume upon a pressure decrease in the fluid passage.

    • A hydraulic power system is disclosed which comprises an internal combustion engine having a speed regulator, and which serves to drive a hydraulic system including a pump and a consumer or load. A throttle valve is positioned in the hydraulic system, and the throttle valve is connected to an adjustable controller, such that the volume flow rate to the consumer is proportional to the control signal delivered to the throttle valve by the controller. The same control signal of the controller is also delivered to the speed regulator of the engine. In one disclosed embodiment, the hydraulic system includes a plurality of consumers connected to a common pump, and each consumer includes an associated throttle valve and controller. Also, means are provided for weighting the several control signals from the controllers, and summing the weighted signals so that a composite adjusting signal is delivered to the speed regulator of the engine.
