    • A switch includes a casing and first and second conductive blades. A conductive strip made of a material that bends when subject to a temperature rise is fixed to the first blade and has a free end. A conductive plate is arranged inside the casing and in electrical connection with the second blade and movable between an engaged position where the conductive plate engages the conductive strip to form an electrical connection between the first and second blades and a disengaged position where the conductive plate disengages from the conductive strip to electrically disconnect the second blade from the first blade. When an overload occurs, an excessive current flows through the conductive strip, causing the strip to bend from a normal operation condition to a breaking condition that separates the conductive strip from the conductive plate. A link is coupled to the conductive plate and defines an elongated slot receiving the free end of the conductive strip therein. The elongated slot allows the conductive plate to move between the engaged and disengaged positions without causing movement of the conductive strip while when the conductive strip is in the breaking condition, the link drivingly couples the conductive strip to the conductive plate for returning the conductive strip back to the normal operation condition. A leaf spring is pivoted between the casing and the conductive strip to retain the conductive strip in the breaking condition until the conductive strip is driven by the link back to the normal operation condition.

    • The thermal circuit breaker and switch has fixed and movable contacts, and non-conductive contact and trip actuators. The movable contact is provided on the free end of a lever arm that normally biases the movable contact toward its open position. The contact actuator transfers movement from a rocker or operator to the movable contact arm when no overload condition exists. The trip actuator is L shaped and rotates in a socket when engaged by a thermally sensitive bi-metallic element so as to allow one end of the contact actuator to float freely, allowing the movable contact arm's bias to open the circuit. The bi-metallic element is so positioned as to engage and rotate the trip actuator only when the bi-metallic element is deformed due to an overheat condition that occurs with an overcurrent. A compression spring acts between the upstanding legs of the trip actuator and the underside of the rocker thus biasing the rocker to the `off` position and biasing the trip actuator to the `reset` position. The rocker employs hooks or posts to engage and position the contact actuator to the reset position after being tripped or manually switched off.

    • An overcurrent release device for protection switching devices, in particular automatic line circuit breakers or motor protective switches, with electromagnetic and thermoelectric release, includes a thermoconducting tubular supporting body onto which a coil is wound and which has a striking end and an opposite widened receiving end for bearing contact and radial support of a bimetal snap-action disk with a central bore, a core having a bore defined therein, an armature movable in the supporting body between its striking end and the core, and a slide extending through the bore in the snap-action disk and through the bore in the core in a direction towards the armature. The slide is provided for thermoelectric disengagement by means of the snap-action disk via a thickened portion and for electromagnetic disengagement by means of the armature via a slide actuator. In the operative state, the spacing between the armature and the core corresponds at maximum to the snapping travel of the snap-action disk.

    • The present invention provides an electric device comprising two electric terminals, a button mechanism having a push button that can depressed to toggle between "on" and "off" statuses, and a conductive reed that conducts electric current between the two electric terminals when connected and disables the passage of current when disconnected. When the button is set "on", a reserve space exists between the reed and the button for the reed to spring upward without pushing the button upward. When the current passing through the reed exceeds a predetermined current level, the reed will become heated and spring upward and rest in the reserve space so as to electrically disconnect the two electric terminals.
