摘要： A switching device includes an arc extinguishing chamber, an orifice for outflow of the gases from the arc extinguishing chamber, and a multilayer wire cloth or fabric having at least a first wire layer and a second wire layer. The first wire layer and the second wire layer have a respective cloth or fabric structure including respective warp yarns and weft yams. The first and second wire layers are disposed in a stacked configuration in the orifice such that a weaving direction of the warp yams of the first wire layer is rotated by an angle in relation to a weaving direction of the warp yarns of the second wire layer, and a weaving direction of the weft yarns of the first wire layer is rotated by an angle in relation to a weaving direction of the weft yarns of the second wire layer.

摘要： A pair of fixed arc electrodes are arranged facing each other within a sealed container that is filled with arc-extinguishing gas 1. There are provided: a compression puffer chamber for accumulating pressurized gas that is obtained by elevating the pressure of the arc-extinguishing gas; and an insulated nozzle that directs the pressurized gas towards the arc discharge from the compression puffer chamber. A buffer chamber is provided, in which hot exhaust gas generated by the heat of the arc discharge is temporarily accumulated. A pressurized gas through-flow space is provided, communicating with the compression puffer chamber. In the pressurized gas through-flow space, an opening/closing section prevents inflow of hot exhaust gas by assuming a closed condition during the earlier half of the current interruption period, and in the latter half of the current interruption period the opening/closing section 41 is opened to allow flow of pressurized gas.

摘要： A circuit breaker which includes a shielding component. The shielding component includes an external portion which defines a space external to the circuit breaker housing. The external portion prevents insertion of the circuit breaker into a breaker box closer than the distances defining the space. This can have the advantage of preventing arcing from the breaker contacts to the breaker box. The external portion may also prevent insertion of the circuit breaker into a breaker box such that a vent in the circuit breaker housing is blocked. In some implementations, the shielding component contains an internal portion which extends into the circuit breaker housing and is disposed to impede debris generated by contact arcing, or other debris, from entering the mechanism of the circuit breaker.
