    • A device for interrupting a flow of electrical power in an electrical distribution system is provided. The electrical distribution network includes a circuit interrupting device, the circuit interrupting device having a reclose time. The device includes a sensor configured to generate a signal in the event of loss of system power. A switch is coupled to the electrical distribution system and is movable between an open and closed position. A controller is operably coupled to the sensor and the switch, the controller having a processor that initiates a timer in response to the signal and determines a measured reclose time with the timer. The processor is further responsive to actuate the switch in response to the measured reclose time is substantially equal to the reclose time of the at least one circuit interrupting device.

    • A power on/off control system includes a microcontroller, a setting module connected to the microcontroller, a photoelectric coupler connected to the microcontroller, and a relay connected to the microcontroller. The setting module is used to set parameters, and the parameters include a power-on time and a power-off time. The relay is used to receive alternating current and connected to an electronic device. When the power-on time is ended, the microcontroller is used to send a power-off signal to the photoelectric coupler for turning on the relay, and the relay stops supplying power to the electronic device. When the power-off time is ended, the microcontroller is further configured to send a power-on signal to the photoelectric coupler for turning off the relay, to supply power for the electronic device. The disclosure further offers a power on/off control method.

    • In one aspect, the present invention provides an electromagnetic circuit interrupter for use in a high voltage direct current (DC) aircraft power distribution system. The electromagnetic circuit interrupter comprises a contact mechanism operable to separate first and second electrical contacts by a first predetermined distance d1 for a predetermined time τ so as to sustain an arc when the contact mechanism is opened. The contact mechanism is further operable to separate the first and second electrical contacts by a second predetermined distance d2 after the predetermined time τ so as to extinguish the arc. The first predetermined distance d1 is less than said second predetermined distance d2. By deliberately sustaining the arc for a relatively long period of time, this aspect of the present invention is particularly useful for extending the operational lifetime of the contacts and thereby of the electromagnetic circuit interrupter itself.
