    • In at least one embodiment, a circulator module comprises circulators. Each circulator comprises: an internal cavity; ports extending from the internal cavity wherein at least one port connects the circulator to another circulator; and a ferrite element disposed in the internal cavity, the ferrite element including an aperture. The circulator module further comprises a first control wire, wherein a first portion of the first control wire is disposed in an aperture of the ferrite element of the first circulator and wherein a second portion of the first control wire is disposed in an aperture of the ferrite element of the second circulator; and, a second control wire, wherein a first portion of the second control wire is disposed in an aperture of the ferrite element of the first circulator and wherein the second control wire is not disposed in an aperture of the ferrite element of the second circulator.

    • A circulator comprises a waveguide housing having a plurality of hollow waveguide arms that communicate with a central cavity, the waveguide housing having a height defined by a plurality of waveguide sidewalls between a waveguide floor and a waveguide ceiling. A ferrite element is disposed in the central cavity of the waveguide housing, with the ferrite element including a central portion. The ferrite element further includes a plurality of ferrite segments that each extend from the central portion and terminate at a distal end. A plurality of dielectric transformers each having an upper surface protrude into the waveguide arms away from the central cavity along the waveguide floor. The dielectric transformers have a height that is less than the height of the waveguide housing such that the upper surface of the transformers is separated from the waveguide ceiling by a gap.

    • A waveguide circulator system for an E-plane-layer transition includes a first waveguide including: at least N waveguide arms, and a first-interface aperture spanning a first X-Y plane on a bottom surface of a first waveguide arm, a ferrite element having N segments protruding into the N respective waveguide arms of the first waveguide; an E-plane-transition waveguide having a first open-end and a second opposing open-end; and a second waveguide including a second-interface aperture spanning a second X-Y. The first-interface aperture is arranged to proximally overlap the first open-end. The second second-interface aperture of the second waveguide and the second-interface aperture is arranged to proximally overlap the second open-end. At least a portion of the first segment of the ferrite element protrudes into a volume extending between the first-interface aperture on the bottom surface of the first waveguide arm and an opposing top surface of the first waveguide arm.

    • A waveguide circulator which does not cause an arcing phenomenon and deterioration of microwave characteristic, even when a ferrite member generates heat to raise a temperature thereof. The waveguide circulator is composed of a waveguide formed substantially in Y-shape with rectangular waveguides which are provided so as to position horizontally on a predetermined plane, and further they are extended in different three directions from junction positions of the waveguide wherein two ferrite members are placed in the junction positions thereof so as to oppose to each other on the upper and lower sides in the height direction perpendicular to the predetermined plane wherein an extended section extending in the height direction in the vicinities of the junction positions of the waveguides is formed, and a distance between the ferrite members is expanded to compensate decreased impedance.

    • An improved multi-junction waveguide circulator overlaps two quarter-wave dielectric transformer sections so that the transitional sections occur concurrently in the same length of waveguide. Consequently, the two quarter-wavelength sections require a total length of between one-quarter wavelength and one-half wavelength, with no air gap between the two sections along the length of the internal cavity. The improved waveguide circulator can be implemented in variations from a minimum of two ferrite circulator elements held in close proximity to one another to any number of ferrite elements as required to achieve the desired isolation performance or to create a switch matrix with any combination of input and output ports. The improved waveguide circulator minimizes the length of the transitions between adjacent ferrite elements and thus reduces losses, component size, and mass.

    • An improved waveguide isolator that eliminates the transitions to air-filled waveguides between ferrite elements and absorptive load elements is described. The waveguide isolator in accordance with the invention can be implemented in variations from a single ferrite to load transformer held in close proximity to an absorptive load element to any number of ferrite elements and absorptive load elements as required to achieve the desired isolation performance or to create a switch matrix with any combination of input and output ports. The waveguide isolator in accordance with the invention eliminates the transitions between ferrite to load transformers and absorptive load elements and thus reduces component size and mass.
