摘要： A method for debriding an infected implant area using a robotic-assisted surgery system. The method includes determining, by a processing circuit associated with a computer, an area to be debrided, the debridement area including at least a surface of an implant or patient tissue, and generating, by the processing circuit, a plan for debriding the debridement area. The method further includes controlling a debridement tool, by the robotic-assisted surgery system, while the debridement tool is used to carry out the debridement plan, and monitoring the debridement by the processing circuit.

摘要： A cutting device is provided that includes an expandable tube having a base and a hollow interior for receiving the implant therein. The expandable tube includes cutting segments extending from the base and terminating to form a distal end of the expandable tube. At least one of the cutting segments has a cutting end with cutting teeth at the distal end of the expandable tube. Spring shaped sections are provided that extend the cutting segments. A method for removing an implant from a target bone is also provided based on the cutting device. A system for removing material directly surrounding an outer surface of an implant in an intramedullary canal of a target bone is also provided based on the cutting device and a sheath. A retractable opening is formed of leaflets at a distal end of the sheath, and a proximal end opposite the distal end.

摘要： Parameters for cardiac ablation can be determined using a map of one or more biological properties of a tissue to be ablated, such as tissue thickness. The biological properties are used to compute a transmurality index map. In turn, the transmurality index map can be used to determine one or more of ablation energy level, ablation time, and ablation contact force to achieve a transmural lesion. Graphical representations of the biological property maps, the transmural index map, and/or the ablation parameters can be output, for example on geometric models of the heart and/or the ablation catheter.

Harvested animated animal tissue is at the robotic surgery station and includes harvested animal tissue, and at least one animating device coupled thereto. A remote surgeon trainee station at a second location in a second structure at a second geographic point is remote from the first geographic point. A remote surgeon instructor station may also be included. A communications network couples the stations so that a trainee surgeon at the remote surgeon trainee station is able to remotely train by performing surgery on the harvested animated animal tissue at said robotic surgery station, and while an instructor surgeon at the remote surgeon instructor station is able to remotely instruct the trainee surgeon by also performing surgery.

摘要： Systems and methods for creating planar cuts on a bone are provided utilizing one or more cutting guides assembled to a plurality of bone pins, where the bone pins are inserted on the bone coincident with one or more virtual pin planes defined relative to one or more of the planar cuts. Alignment guides are also disclosed herein that aid in the creation of pilot holes for receiving a cutting block in a desired position and orientation (POSE). An articulating surgical device actively positions the bone pins coincident with the virtual plane to ensure the cutting guides, when assembled to the pins, aligns one or more guide slots in the desired POSE to create the planar cuts.

摘要： A process for confirming registration of bones involved in a joint replacement procedure is provided that includes a three dimensional (3-D) models of the bones being generated. The bones are tracked with a tracking device attached to each of the bones to allow 6-degrees of freedom (DOF) tracking during the joint replacement procedure. The 3-D models to the bones are registered and the bones having the tracking device are moved. A corresponding motion in the 3-D models with the moving of the bones is then observed. The registration of the 3-D models to the bone when the observations of the 3-D models move in correspondence with the actual bones is then confirmed or an alarm when an algorithm detects the 3-D bone models move unexpectedly during the movement of the bones. A system for confirming registration of bones involved in the joint replacement procedure is also provided.
