    • The invention relates to a system for opening and closing a door (50) to the bay (20) of the landing gear (30) of an aircraft (10) with extensive freedom in positioning.     • A mechanism for increasing the ride height of aircraft by selectively increasing the hydraulic fluid content within landing gear struts. By increasing the hydraulic fluid volume within a strut, the strut is lengthened without adversely affecting its spring rate while the ability to withdraw fluid from a strut maintains the ability of the strut to absorb the impact of landing. The mechanism is readily retrofitable to existing landing gear systems to accommodate more efficient under the wing intake designs and to reduce the likelihood of FOD during taxiing at minimal cost and with very a minimal increase in the aircraft weight.

    • An aircraft landing gear door assembly has a plurality of doors. The doors include a first door (1) and a second door (2) adjacent to the first door when the doors are closed. The first door (1) is so mounted that its movement to its open position involves movement of at least part of the first door through space which is occupied by the second door (2) in its closed position and vacated by the second door (2) in its open position. Provision of the second door allows the axis of rotation (11) of the first door (1) to be disposed above the first door so that the door projects less far downwardly in its open position than would be the case if the first door (1) were hinged about its edge.
