    • An electric lamp, in particular for motor vehicles, has a base with a connection area (14) made of an electrically insulating material and provided with the electric connections (15) of the lamp. The feeding lines (11) that lead out of the lamp bulb (10) are soldered in the inner cavity (18) of the connection area (14) to electric connections designed as contact lugs (15). In order to reduce the risk of damage to the compressible seal (10) when the lamp is inserted in the mount, the compressible seal (10) tapers down in steps in the direction of the mount and all the support collars (21a, 21b, 22a, 22b, 23a, 23b) which act on the compressible seal (10) point essentially towards the broad sides of the compressible seal (10) which is substantially rectangular in cross-section, while the narrow sides of the compressible seal (10) are arranged without contact in the support element (2).

    • An electric lamp includes a lamp cap (15) having an insulative body (17) of synthetic material with a bore (46) therein. A lamp cap contact (19) includes a rigid shank (23) received in the bore (46) of the insulative body.     • The electric mains voltage lamp has a lamp cap (10) with a cylindrical portion (12) abutting a glass envelope (1). A resilient cover member (20) circumferentially clamps around and covers the cylindrical portion (12) of the lamp cap (10) and has a circumferential, outwardly extending, flexible collar (21).
