摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball, in which mass is selectively arranged to achieve preferable flight properties and spin control properties.SOLUTION: Multi-piece golf balls 12 containing a multi-layered core 14 or a dual-core are provided. The cores 14 have selective weighting configurations (SWC). Particularly, the core layers 14a, 14b, 14c are made of different compositions having different specific gravity levels or densities. Preferably, rubber and high neutralized ethylene acid copolymer compositions are used to form at least one layer in the core 14. The rubber and ionomer compositions may be loaded with fillers to adjust the specific gravity levels.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball having adjusted aerodynamic efficiency due to dimple designs and having superior aerodynamic characteristics.SOLUTION: Provided herein is a golf ball that includes a generally spherical surface and an array of dimples formed on the surface. The undimpled portion of the spherical surface is the land area 16. At least one of the dimples includes a perimeter 28, a base 20, and a sidewall 22 connecting the perimeter to the base. The sidewall 22 forms an edge angle with the ball surface 12. The edge angle at a particular point on the perimeter 28 is proportional to width of the land area 16 adjacent to the point. Where the width of the land area 16 is wide, the edge angle is high. Similarly, where the width of the land area is narrow, the edge angle is low. As the width of the land area 16 in non-tessellated dimple patterns is determined by the position of the neighboring dimples, the edge angle varies cyclically around the perimeter 28, with the number of cycles corresponding to the number of neighboring dimples.

The outer surface of the core has a trans content of about 12% or less and a hardness of about 71 to 88 Shore C, the geometric center of the core has a trans content of about 10% or less and a hardness of about 70 to 80 Shore C, and the core surface hardness is greater than the geometric center hardness by about 1 to 10 Shore C to define a shallow positive hardness gradient.
