A burial compartment for two bodies comprises an outer container and two inner containers separated by two inner panels and a center panel. The burial compartment is configured so as to provide for burial of two bodies in a burial plot dimensioned for only one person. Moreover, the burial compartment makes it possible to provide a sealed inner container for a first, single body until subsequently a second body is placed with the first, at which time two separate inner containers holding the two bodies are easily joined, allowing for eternal rest of two bodies in a single, unified compartment. A method of non-contemporaneous burial is also provided.

Device for burying a line, for instance a cable, a pipeline or similar in the sea bed, and comprising a number of rearward-facing nozzles (viewed in the direction of digging) each of which is connected to a pressure liquid hose and positioned to either side of the centre line of the device. A series of devices for burying a line in the sea bed are known which incorporate nozzles. Examples of these are to be found in US Patents 3.217.499 and 3.505.826. This invention is aimed at improving the existing types of digging device so that a deep trench may be dug, the line laid and the trench back-filled all at the same time. It is intended that the device as produced should be both robust and light in weight. The invention achieves this by the nozzles (4, 5) being arranged in pairs (3), with one of the nozzles (5) in each pair (3) being inclined downwards and backwards at an angle and the other nozzle (4) being inclined upwards and backwards at an angle.

A burial vault including a base and a cover or dome molded from moldable plastic resinous material. The base and cover or dome have reinforcing ribs formed integrally therewith on the inner surfaces of the side and end walls thereof. The base has a pattern of reticulated reinforcing ribs formed integrally with and on the inner surface of the bottom of the base, and the cover or dome has a comparable pattern of reticulated reinforcing ribs formed integrally with and on the inner or lower surface of the top wall of the cover or dome, and the base has reinforcing structures formed integrally therewith at the bottom corners of the base. The base and the cover or dome have reinforcing ribs formed on the inner surfaces of the side and end walls thereof. The base and the cover or dome have outwardly projecting marginal or peripheral sealing flanges formed integrally therein at the upper and lower edges thereof, respectively, and these sealing flanges have mating and coacting sealing tongues and grooves formed therein. At least certain of the walls of the base and the cover or dome have geometrically shaped recesses formed in the outer surfaces thereof and these recesses are adapted to receive correspondingly geometrically shaped decorative colored panels or inserts adhesively mounted therein. At least certain of the reinforcing ribs on the inner surfaces of the side walls of the base and the dome or cover have coacting latching grooves and tongues formed therein for securely latching the base and the cover or dome together in assembled relationship.

A burial vault is provided, the component parts of which are preferably made of molded plastic resinous material, such as polyethylene, and which comprises a composite base including as components parts thereof, (1) a generally flat, rectangular-shaped supporting platform; (2) an inner upright wall structure including a generally rectangular-shaped frame mounted on the said supporting platform member and having an open top and having a lower end portion which is mechanically fastened and hermetically sealed to the supporting platform and having upstanding side walls and end walls which are provided on their outer surfaces with laterally spaced generally vertically extending parallel reinforcing ribs; and (3) a generally flat rectangular-shaped top closure plate or lid member which is arranged over and closes the open top of the frame member of the inner upright wall structure and is hermetically sealed thereto. The burial vault includes a dome-shaped outer cover member having side walls and end walls, a closed top wall and an open bottom wall; the dome-shaped outer cover member being arranged over the top closure plate or lid member and being arranged over and enclosing the frame of the inner upright wall structure and being mechanically fastened and hermetically sealed to the supporting platform member.
