PURPOSE:To prevent erroneous inking work of a worker, by comparing a differential concentration between print management scales with an allowable range between thresh levels, then leveling it by shifting the thresh level. CONSTITUTION:Binary density data detected by a data detector 2 and provided from print management scales 10 located at two positions are compared with a previously stored setting thresh level then they are leveled. If a differential level occurs in the density data at same mesh point percent of the scale 10, a differential density between data is compared with an allowable range of the thresh level. If the differential density is within the allowable range, the difference between the thresh level and the lowest density data is calculated and the entire thresh level is shifted correspondingly to the direction of low density so as to match a new thresh level with the lowest density among data. Consequently, a plurality of density data from the print management scales can be indicated with same level onto a level indicator 3.
