184 MULTIPLE INSERT DELIVERY SYSTEMS AND METHODS CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS PCT/US0141223 2001-07-02 WO0202447A3 2002-06-20 CASTRO FRED; BENNETT BRUCE A; MCDONALD MICK P; SCHREIBER JEFF J; TUNINK COREY
The system is designed to provide a transport system with specified sheet-like material at a request time. The system includes insert towers (100) that provide the requested material at the appropriate time. Each insert tower contains multiple insert hoppers (160a - 160e) aligned vertically within the tower. Due to space constraints, the vertical arrangement of the hoppers enables the system to choose from significantly more different inserts that would be available from systems without vertical insert towers. The insert hoppers are loaded vertically within the insert hoppers which creates a horizontal queue of sheet-like material (10). Upon a request from a system computer, specified inserts are pulled and the insert tower delivers the insert (1) to a transport system.
185 CARD STACK LIFTER AND EXCEPTION FEED PCT/US0120295 2001-06-26 WO0201493A3 2002-04-11 MEIER JAMES R
A printer (10) for printing identification cards, in particular, is provided with a hopper (38, 40) for holding a stack (65A, 67A) of cards (65, 67) to be printed. A card feeder (66) will feed one card at a time from the hopper (38, 40). The hopper (38, 40) is mounted so that it can be moved away from the card feeder (66) and provide a space (110) into which a single card (112) can be manually fed to the card feeder (66) for processing and printing. The hopper (38, 40) then can be returned to its normal feeding position after the single card (112) has been printed.
186 BANKNOTE HANDLING PCT/GB2001/000059 2001-01-08 WO01052196A1 2001-07-19
Apparatus is provided forming loose notes into an ATM-fit stack. Such apparatus takes the form of first and second note holders for holding notes in an orientation 180 DEG apart. Means is provided for removing notes one at a time from the first or second note holders and counting the removed notes. Transfer means receives the removed and counted notes and collates them into a stack. Control means is arranged to control the removal of notes from the first and second note holders so that the stack contains substantially equal numbers of oppositely oriented notes. This arrangement permits the notes to be supplied to the stack so that they alternate, individually or in groups, in orientation along the stack, a level stack is produced and mis-feeds are reduced. The apparatus may further comprise a bander for forming a banded bundle or stack of notes that may be placed manually into a cassette as a group, after which the band or bands are cut and removed by pulling. A method and apparatus is also provided for operating a processing station for spent cassettes from automatic teller machines in a cash processing centre.
187 DEVICE FOR AUTOMATIC DISPENSING OF BANK NOTES OR THE LIKE PCT/FR2000/002676 2000-09-28 WO01025126A1 2001-04-12
The invention concerns an inexpensive dispenser specially designed in terms of simplicity and compactness, adapted to be incorporated in locked safes for counters of small banking agencies. It comprises, assembled on a vertical panel (1): at least a cassette (20) containing a stack of notes; an unstacking unit (3) associated with each cassette (20); a conveying unit (4) supplied with bank notes by said unstacking units (3), and transporting them towards a dispensing point; and means for sensing notes (60) downstream of each unstacking unit (3), designed to count them to act as stop control for the unstacking unit (3).

195 DUAL TRAYS FOR IMAGE RECEIVER MEDIA SHEETS PCT/US2008013971 2008-12-22 WO2009088443A3 2009-12-30 WONG RANDAL MUN HON; BELON JUAN; BALCAN PETRICA D
A printer having a sheet tray, a drive for advancing sheets past a marking mechanism, and a picker to remove sheets from an aligned tray includes a load position and a pick position. Trays are selectively moved between load and pick positions. A transmission is engagable to connect the drive to the tray moving mechanism, whereby the tray is moved between pick position and load position by the media sheet advancing drive. The transmission is disengagable to enable advancement of media sheets without movement of the tray. Starting with both trays in their load positions, one tray is moved to its pick position where a sheet can be picked; moving the other tray to its pick position whereat a sheet of media from each tray can be picked; and moving the tray remaining at its pick position from its pick position to its media load position.
196 INCREASING THE SPEED OF DISPENSING ARTICLES FROM VENDING MACHINES PCT/US2008/011195 2008-09-25 WO2009042211A1 2009-04-02 BROOM, Ward, P.; STALLINGS, Keith; JOINER, Kyle; FITZGERALD, Robert, M.

Improvements to increase the speed at which a vending machine can dispense articles are disclosed. In various embodiments, the machine defines plural first arrays of receptacles for receiving articles with the first arrays stacked so that adjacent receptacles in the first arrays form second arrays. A separate user door closes each first array of receptacles, a slot door assembly provides a plurality of receptacle doors operative to open a particular receptacle when the user door is unlocked, and a slot access mechanism provides access to a particular receptacle. The machine waits a specified time period after dispensing to detect whether a subsequent user request is received. If a subsequent user request is received, the machine moves the slot access mechanism directly to a receptacle where the articles are available. Additional improvements include procedures for avoiding problems caused by misaligned doors and procedures for providing optimal article stocking.

197 VENDING MACHINE AND COMPONENT PARTS PCT/US2005006190 2005-02-25 WO2005084237A3 2008-09-18 CARTER DANIEL S; CRAVEN CHRISTOPHER R; EL-AOUAR WALID H; GREINER CRAIG R; HIEB LARRY E; JAMES DEAN W; SOUTHARD SANDRA L; WILLIAMS ROLANDO S
This invention is a vending machine and components parts that include a sophisticated positioning system, gripper and trays for improved efficiency in product retrieval and delivery. Following product selection, the positioning system quickly transports the gripper through the X-Y plane to the front of a tray queue containing the selected product. The gripper is extended in the Z-direction, and its fingers grasp the foremost product container in the queue. The gripper then retracts, and the positioning system transports the gripper carrying the product container to a delivery port. The gripper then releases the product which slides down a chute into a delivery bucket that is then tilted outward for customer pick up. Unique product storage trays are provided which work in conjunction with the gripper to allow only the foremost product to be removed from a tray queue. A specially designed door is provided to accommodate the X-Y positioning system. A unique cabinet is also provided that includes an adjustable ventilation system, and a conveniently located compact, easily removable modular climate control unit. Related methods are also disclosed.

200 PNEUMATIC VENDING MACHINE PCT/US2006010869 2006-03-24 WO2006102607A3 2006-12-07 SIMSON ANTON K; CHARMASSON HENRI J A
A machine particularly adapted for dispensing light items (19) packaged in symmetrical, frustum- shaped containers. The items are propelled through a tubular cartridge (3) by compressed air, and in the absence of any solid pushing, pulling or carrying device, then individually dispensed. A flow of compressed air generated by a blower (28) is s fed to the back of the cartridge. The items are dispensed under control of a toggling dual-gate mechanism (26, 27) at the front end of the cartridge. The dual-gate mechanism of a removable magazine (2) grouping a number of cartridges can be selectively addressed and activated by means of a solenoid-driven cross-bar assembly (38).
