The invention relates to a incandescent body consisting of a textile tubing having at least one open end. A fireproof fixing material is provided, for fixing the end of the tubing to a burner or to a moulded part for a burner of an incandescent lamp. The aim of the invention is to provide an incandescent body or a burner for an incandescent body which, independently of the above-mentioned fixing material, has increased durability in terms of resistance to impacts. To this end, a second fireproof material is provided between the burner and the incandescent body, at the open end of the incandescent body on the side facing the burner, thereby increasing the mechanical durability of the incandescent body in the region of the burner. The second fireproof material is arranged in such a way that it crosses the fixing material in the fixed state of the incandescent body or is embodied as a pearly solid or as an incandescent filament.

The invention relates to an asbestos-free tie yarn for fixing incandescent bodies to the burners of incandescent lamps whose incandescent bodies are exposed to a flame after fixing, wherein the tie yarn consists of a fireproof material, preferably silicone yarn. In order to improve the knotability of the yarn, the modification of the diameter of the tie yarn is less than 50% of its original diameter after being exposed to the flame. The invention also relates to the use of said tie yarn in an incandescent body in order to enhance its durability.
169 Mantle support device EP84111584.3 1984-09-27 EP0135939A2 1985-04-03 Kelly, Ward L.

in a device for the burning of gas by means of a mantle the improvement comprises a support for the mantle. The support includes attachment means for connecting it to a gas outlet tube emanating from the device. Lower body means is connected to the attachment means which is characterized as being substantially incapable of communicating significant amounts of gas from the interior to the exterior side wall of the lower body means. Connected thereto is an upper body means which is characterized as having a substantially porous side wall for the communication of gas to its exterior. A support plate having a substantially circular configuration is connected to the upper body means and, finally, mantle piercing means is caused to emanate from the support plate.

170 LAMP ASSEMBLY WITH IMPROVED CHARACTERISTICS PCT/US2015/061941 2015-11-20 WO2016081876A1 2016-05-26 SCHNEIDER, Andrew, Michael

A lamp assembly including members that allow the lamp fixture to be installed into a fixture base and be vertically adjusted relative thereto is provided. The lamp assembly has a casing, a riser and a control arm. The casing has a base section, a tapered section and a central bore. The riser has a first piece, a second piece and a third piece. The third piece of the riser is removably insertable into a socket of a fixed structure. The first and second pieces of the riser are rotatable relative to each other. The control arm has a first piece and a second piece. The first piece of the control arm causes the second piece of the riser to likewise rotate. The second piece of the control arm causes the casing to vertically raise or lower relative to the riser and hence relative to the fixed structure.

171 APPARATUS FOR AND METHOD OF INSTALLING A MANTLE CLIP AND MANTLE ON A LANTERN PCT/US2004012258 2004-04-20 WO2004094898A8 2004-12-09 LONG NORRIS RICHARD; NABORS BILL
A mantle assembly including a holder (20, 40), a mantle clip (24, 56), and a mantle (22). The holder (20, 40) includes first (46) and second abutment (48) portions for biasing or otherwise holding end portions (62, 64) of the mantle clip (24, 56) so that an opening of the mantle clip is held in an open position. The end portions (62, 64) are held such that once the open portion of the mantle clip is placed onto a mantle base (36), the holder (20, 40) may be pulled away or otherwise manipulated so that the end portions slide out of or off of the abutment portions and the mantle clip may attach to the mantle base (36). The attachment of the mantle clip (24, 56) to the mantle base (36) may be formed, for example, by the end portions (62, 64) biasing back into position after being released by the mantle holder (20, 40), so that the middle portion becomes smaller and locks around the mantle base (36).

A lantern includes an elongated tubular mantle which is attached to a burner assembly by a spring clip and an electronic ignitor for igniting fuel which flows into the mantle. The mantle is surrounded by a globe, and a wire guard surrounds the globe. A ventilator cap is removably attached to the burner assembly and to the wire guard so that the cap, wire guard, and globe can be removed as a unit from the burner assembly. A nut is rotatably captured on the ventilator cap for attaching the ventilator cap to the burner assembly. The fuel tank includes a wide, molded base which provides stable support. An air pump for the fuel tank includes a check valve which automatically opens and closes as air is pumped and a pressure indicator to indicate when the fuel tank reaches operating pressure. The pump is automatically lubricated on each stroke.
