61 APPARATUS FOR AND METHOD OF INSTALLING A MANTLE CLIP AND MANTLE ON A LANTERN EP04750413.9 2004-04-20 EP1616125B1 2007-05-30 LONG, Norris, Richard; NABORS, Bill
A mantle assembly including a holder (20, 40), a mantle clip (24, 56), and a mantle (22). The holder (20, 40) includes first (46) and second abutment (48) portions for biasing or otherwise holding end portions (62, 64) of the mantle clip (24, 56) so that an opening of the mantle clip is held in an open position. The end portions (62, 64) are held such that once the open portion of the mantle clip is placed onto a mantle base (36), the holder (20, 40) may be pulled away or otherwise manipulated so that the end portions slide out of or off of the abutment portions and the mantle clip may attach to the mantle base (36). The attachment of the mantle clip (24, 56) to the mantle base (36) may be formed, for example, by the end portions (62, 64) biasing back into position after being released by the mantle holder (20, 40), so that the middle portion becomes smaller and locks around the mantle base (36).

63 BINDEGARN FÜR GLÜHKÖRPER UND DESSEN VERWENDUNG EP02772173.7 2002-08-20 EP1421228B1 2005-05-04 Issakides, Georg
The invention relates to an asbestos-free tie yarn for fixing incandescent bodies to the burners of incandescent lamps whose incandescent bodies are exposed to a flame after fixing, wherein the tie yarn consists of a fireproof material, preferably silicone yarn. In order to improve the knotability of the yarn, the modification of the diameter of the tie yarn is less than 50% of its original diameter after being exposed to the flame. The invention also relates to the use of said tie yarn in an incandescent body in order to enhance its durability.
64 Mantle support device EP84111584 1984-09-27 EP0135939A3 1986-01-29 Kelly, Ward L.

in a device for the burning of gas by means of a mantle the improvement comprises a support for the mantle. The support includes attachment means for connecting it to a gas outlet tube emanating from the device. Lower body means is connected to the attachment means which is characterized as being substantially incapable of communicating significant amounts of gas from the interior to the exterior side wall of the lower body means. Connected thereto is an upper body means which is characterized as having a substantially porous side wall for the communication of gas to its exterior. A support plate having a substantially circular configuration is connected to the upper body means and, finally, mantle piercing means is caused to emanate from the support plate.

A mantle assembly includes a mantle having at least one open end and a spring clip at the open end for attaching the open end of the mantle to the burner assembly of a lantern. The spring clip includes a generally circular central portion which surrounds the mantle opening and a pair of end portions. The end portions are movable between first and second positions for changing the size of the opening of the central portion. The mantle can have a generally tubular shape with a pair of open ends, and a spring clip surrounds each open end.

A resilient wire clip goes around the mouth of a gas latern mantle to hold the mantle securely in place around the opening of the tube and can be manually expanded to release the mantle when it has to be replaced.
67 Electric simulated gaslight assembly US130404 1987-12-09 US4785384A 1988-11-15 John J. Zwald; John L. Hickey, Jr.
An electric lamp assembly simulating the appearance of a gaslight for installation in an existing incandescent-type light fixture. The assembly includes an adapter which contains a screw in, incandescent-type base projecting from one surface thereof, and a receptacle for receiving the base of a fluorescent lamp on an opposed surface thereof. The lamp is surrounded by a translucent cover, and a fabric mesh encloses the cover. A wire frame assembly is disposed on the outside of the cover and mesh. The cover includes longitudinally extending ridges which diffuse the light emanating from the lamp, to present an appearance that looks similar to a gaslight. Also, the cover may be provided with a tint which, in combination with the mantle, provides the light emanating from the lamp with a color virtually identical to the color of light which would emanate from a typical gaslight. Also phosphors may be provided in the fluorescent lamp which consist of blue-green phosphors, green-blue phosphors, and yellow phosphors in addition to or instead of the tinting on the cover to provide the desired color.
68 Gas light with built-in mixing chamber US3737652D 1971-07-23 US3737652A 1973-06-05 LOVELESS S
A gas lamp of simplified construction for mounting on a support, such as a wall or the like, by means of a mounting plate. A burner assembly comprises an upstanding reflector plate, a lower venturi plate and an upper venturi plate all joined together, the venturi plates extending substantially horizontally from the reflector plate and together defining a venturi passage. A depending burner nose communicates with the output end of the venturi passage and depends from the lower venturi plate in spaced relation to the reflector for carrying a gas mantle. The upper venturi plate carries a substantially horizontal heat deflector. A metal mesh light diffuser surrounds the burner nose and mantle and extends from the reflector plate. A diffuser holder underlies and supports the light diffuser. Means are provided for removably joining the light diffuser holder and the burner assembly to the mounting plate. A manually actuable gas valve is carried by the mounting plate behind the reflector and is provided with a nozzle which communicates through a notch in the reflector with the input end of the venturi for supplying gas to the burner nose.

Means for attaching inverted mantles to lighting means such as gaslights. The mantles comprise supporting rings which have fingers for seating engagement with lugs formed on the downwardly extending fuel supply conduit of the light. A separate ring is located in spaced relationship relative to the lugs whereby any tendency of the mantle-supporting ring to move out of position is minimized by the separate ring.

A lamp apparatus without base is provided to easily assemble and separate the lamp apparatus by assembling and separating the fixed lamp apparatus at the wall and the ceiling by the fixing unit. A lamp apparatus without base includes a fixing unit(110), a pair of introducing wires(120,130), a filament(140) and a formed lamp(150). The fixing unit(110) includes a body, fixing unit which is formed on one side of the body and is fixed on the wall and the ceiling, an inserting unit which is formed on the other side of the body and is curved to the predetermined angle, and a connecting unit which is formed on the specific area of the body and makes the inserting unit move. The introducing wire(120,130) is formed as the pair, and receives the operating power source through the power source terminal which is installed on the wall or the ceiling. The filament(140) is connected with the pair of the inserting wires at the both edges, and emits the light/thermo-electron when the power source is supplied through the introducing wire. The formed lamp(150) has a hanging groove which is fixed by the inserting unit of the fixing unit(110) is inserted, and is formed more the of itself on the adjacent surface to the wall and the ceiling, and has a stitching unit which has a hole with the built-in introducing wire.
