摘要： A device is provided for therapeutically treating a desired region of a patient's body with a nonambient temperature treatment fluid circulated through a pliant heat transfer element positioned on the treatment region. In accordance with one embodiment, the device has a fluid inlet line supplying the treatment fluid to the heat transfer element from a fluid reservoir, and a fluid outlet line returning the treatment fluid to the fluid reservoir from the heat transfer element. The inlet and outlet lines are enclosed within a unitary sheath and a manual bulb pump is provided for driving the nonambient temperature treatment fluid between the reservoir and the heat transfer element. In accordance with another embodiment, fluid drive is provided by a motor-driven submersible pump positioned in the reservoir. Temperature control of the heat transfer element is enabled by adjusting the fluid flow rate therethrough. In accordance with yet another embodiment, the device has a pump and a single fluid flow line. A network of valves and fittings are provided in the fluid flow line to enable alternate fluid flow from the reservoir to the heat transfer element and from the heat transfer element to the reservoir.

摘要： A fluid container stand is provided having an extension member supported in an upright vertical position by an underlying base. The base is constructed from a plurality of planar base members and a plurality of planar union members. The base members are radially disposed about the longitudinal axis of the stand in an upright intersecting position and provide a slot at their top ends to receive the lower end of the extension member. The union members orthogonally engage the base members at predetermined vertical intervals along the longitudinal axis of the stand to securely maintain the base members in their desired position. The stand is further provided with a hooked structure mounted on the upper end of the extension member for suspending fluid containers therefrom.

摘要： A knee brace for externally replacing the function of a torn anterior cruciate ligament. The brace has femur and tibia levers hinged proximal the knee joint. The femur lever has an upper high cuff which bears against the front of the thigh and a lower strap which applies anterior force to the back of the thigh proximal the knee, while the tibia lever has a lower calf cuff which bears against the back of the calf and an upper strap which applies posterior force to the front of the tibia proximal the knee. Thus, the two straps apply a differential force couple forwardly to the femur and rearwardly to the tibia proximal the knee joint which serves the anterior cruciate ligament function. A resilient tubular undersleeve anchors the brace against downward migration on the leg.
