摘要： Update means for a vehicle controller system with access to partitioned memory. The control system receives 301 a software update package comprising partition validation data and partition distribution data. A current partition distribution data of the memory is determined 302 and compared 303 to the partition validation data. If the current partition distribution data matches the partition validation data, the memory is repartitioned 304 according to the partition distribution data. Determining the current partition distribution may comprise generating a distribution value or hash representative of the partition distribution structure of the memory. There may be a whitelist of allowable partition distributions that may include old partition distributions or allowable partition hashes of the memory.

摘要： A vehicle control system comprising one or more controllers (14, figure 2), the vehicle control system comprising a global power state and comprising at least two virtual machines 26,28,30 being hosted on the one or more controllers wherein each virtual machine has a local power state, the vehicle control system configured to: receive a vehicle parameter signal indicative of a required global power state of the vehicle control system; and determine a local power state for each virtual machine in dependence on the received vehicle parameter signal; update a current local power state of each virtual machine to the respective determined local power state therefor. The controller may comprise a microcontroller unit 16 and an application processor (20), the latter running a hypervisor (24) which hosts the virtual machines. Each virtual machine may run different software applications 32a which may have different power management needs. A virtual machine manager 46 and power manager 48 on the hypervisor may therefore be configured to “keep alive” functionality to the different applications while avoiding leaving the controller in a fully running power state indefinitely.
