    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having excellent wear resistance and deletion preventing property and keeping electric characteristics in a high level over a long period, and also to provide a process cartridge and an image forming apparatus each using the photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor comprises: a conductive substrate; and a photosensitive layer deposited on the conductive substrate and having the outermost surface layer in the farthest side from the conductive substrate.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can realize both of improvement in the picture quality and a higher image forming rate even when a surface light emitting laser having a large number of laser beams is used. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with: an electrophotographic photoreceptor 12; an electrifying apparatus 14 to electrify the electrophotographic photoreceptor 12; an exposure apparatus 16 to expose the electrified electrophotographic photoreceptor 12 to form an electrostatic latent image, a developing apparatus 18 to develop the electrostatic latent image with toner to form a toner image; and a transfer apparatus 32 to transfer the toner image from the electrophotographic photoreceptor 12 to a medium to be transferred. The electrophotographic photoreceptor 12 comprises a conductive substrate and a charge generating layer and a charge transport layer formed on the substrate. The charge transport layer shows ≤5°C difference between the maximum and minimum of the glass transition temperature in the portion corresponding to the region for forming an electrostatic latent image. The exposure apparatus 16 is equipped with a surface light emitting laser array having three or more light emitting elements as the exposure light source and employs a multi-beam system by scanning the electrophotographic photoreceptor 12 with a plurality of light beams to form an electrostatic latent image.
