    • PURPOSE: To produce hollow fiber bundles inexpensively by bending continuous hollow fibers by providing spaces twice or above the diameter at constant length, stacking these in a receiving box, shaping these as a fiber bundle with a pressing means, and adhering the bent parts at both ends by means of adhesive.
      CONSTITUTION: A hollow fiber 1 supplied continuously is hooked successively to th projections 5 of a pair of chain conveyors 6 having the projections 5 and traveling in parallel by means of traverse guides 4. The fibers 1 which are bent and are fed disengage successively from the projections 6 and are stacked in a receiving box 8. When a prescribed amt. is attained, the fibers are shaped as a fiber bundle with a pressing means 10. Then, the bent parts of the hollow fibers 1 at both ends of the bundle are adhered by means of adhesive.

    • PURPOSE:To exactly produce an intermittent adhesion type optical fiber tape at low cost by feeding an adhesive agent to specified parts of many filaments of optical fibers arranged parallely along its breadth direction from a nozzle with an exact amt. and at exact time using a designating means comprising a timer and a dispenser. CONSTITUTION:Many numbers of filaments of optical fiber 1 are arranged parallely along its breadth direction with a nip rolls 2, 2' and a binding jig 9 for the arrangement, and an adhesive agent is fed from an adhesive agent extruding nozzle 5 to specified parts of the arranged optical fiber surface. Since the amt. of the supplied adhesive agent and the time of the supply to an application nozzle 5 are designated exactly by a designating means constituted of a timer 3 and a dispenser 4, intermittently coated area 6'' with the adhesive agent are formed of the surface of the arranged optical fiber. Thus, the adhesive agent is supplied intermittently extremely smoothly and uniformly. Thereafter, aimed intermittent adhesive tapes are produced exactly and continuously by passing the optical fibers through a curing furnace 8.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a smooth cur face by providing an optical fiber holding member which can be moved vertically, a spacer member which can be moved forward and backward to change the vertical position of said holding member, and a cutting edge member which can be moved to and back from the cutting position of the optical fiber holding member. CONSTITUTION:A spacer 20 is inserted into an optical fiber holding member 1, and a plastic optical fiber is inserted through a fiber insertion hole 11. The optical fiber is primarily cut slightly longer than a prescribed length in this state, and in this case, a cylinder 31 is operated to project a cutting edge 30 until the edge 30 reaches a backplate 14, and the cutting edge 30 is moved back after cutting. The spacer 20 is moved back after operating a cylinder 13, and secondary cutting is performed. The position of the cutting edge 30 after backward movement of the spacer 20 corresponding to the prescribed length of the optical fiber 40; and since the thickness of scraps in this secondary cutting is about 0.1-0.3mm, scraps are cut away while being bent, and the optical fiber is cut smoothly, and the cut face is smooth and the cutting edge 30 is worn little.

      CONSTITUTION: In a filter module wherein a filter pipeline 7 is provided to the central parts of the fixed members 2 bundling and fixing the hollow yarn filter membranes 3, the rigid supporting members 4 such as rigid resin wherein the providing positions of the filter pipeline 7 in the inside of the fixed members 2 are fixed thereto are provided so as to join to the annular members 1, 1'. By this method, the stress added to the fixed members 2 via the filter pipeline 7 can be decreased.

    • PURPOSE:To develop a hollow yarn filter module excellent in filtering capacity, by arranging two or more of filter members, each of which is formed by fixing a large nunber of hollow yarn filter membranes in a U-shaped bundled state, in opposed relation to each other and providing a filtrate gathering chamber to one water intake surface to perform the confluence with the filtrate by the other filter member through pipings. CONSTITUTION:In a filter module as a water purifier using hollow yarn filter membranes, a large number of hollow yarn membranes 3, each of which is opened at both ends and excellent in filtering capacity, comprising a cellulosic or polyolefin material are bent into a U-shape and fixing to a ring shaped member 1 at opening ends thereof in a bundled state by a fixing member 2 comprising polyurethane. Two or more of thus formed filter members are arranged so that U-shaped hollow yarn filter membranes are opposed and a filtrate gathering chamber 5 is provided to the water intake surface of one of the filter members while piping 7 for allowing the filtrate in the gathering chamber 5 to be confluent to that by the other filter member is arranged. By this method, the hollow yarn filter module having high utilization efficiency of the constitutional hollow yarn filter membranes is developed.
