    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable which enables easy identification of a plurality of optical units contained therein when taking out the optical units in the cable by tearing an outer jacket at a notch.SOLUTION: An optical fiber cable 1 comprises optical units 2 (2A, 2B, 2C), each including a plurality of optical fibers 5 wrapped with a film 4, which are covered by an outer jacket 3 having a rectangular cross-sectional shape. The outer jacket has tension members 12 collinearly arranged on both sides of the optical units, and release paper 13 for taking out the optical units provided above and below the optical units in parallel with a line on which the optical units and the tension members are aligned. Two notches 11 for tearing the outer jacket are provided on each of upper and lower surfaces corresponding to longer sides of the outer jacket, which are positioned such that no optical units are positioned on each line S1 connecting a pair of upper and lower notches.
