    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melting furnace and an incineration ash melting method wherein a plasma torch is automatically inserted into a furnace body, the same is evacuated to the outside of the furnace body, and a tip of the plasma torch is moved longitudinally, laterally and vertically to move a plasma arc generation place. SOLUTION: In this melting furnace comprising the furnace body 3 and the plasma torch 4, and melting the incineration ash including a substance of high melting point charged into the furnace body 3 by the plasma arc generated between counter electrodes mounted on the plasma torch 4 and the furnace body 3, a torch traveling device is mounted for inserting the plasma torch 4 into the furnace body 3, and evacuating the same to the outside of the furnace body 3. The torch traveling device longitudinally, laterally and vertically travels the tip of the plasma torch 4 to move the plasma arc generation place, when the plasma torch 4 is inserted into the furnace body 3.     • PURPOSE:To provide a melting device, capable of discharging remaining molten slag, remaining in a melting furnace, to the outside without removing a furnace body from a furnace lid and without spoiling the working atmosphere of the device. CONSTITUTION:In a melting device, a closely contacting surface between a throwing chute 6, fixed to a furnace lid 5, and the supplying chute 48 of an ash supplying device or the split surface 49 of chute is a slanted surface, slanted to the outside of a tangential line for an arc, described about the center of a pivotally supporting shaft 46 and provided with a radius same as a distance between the pivotally supporting shaft 46 and the rear rim G of the chute split surface 49 in the pivoting direction thereof. Accordingly, when a furnace body inclining cylinder is extended, the furnace lid 5 is separated from the supplying chute 49 of the ash supplying device without any interference and resistance while the furnace body and the furnace lid are slanted forward integrally whereby molten slag can be discharged out of a slag discharging port 8.
