摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrocarbon composition having excellent low-temperature characteristics, and a method for producing the hydrocarbon composition, and to provide a lubricant base oil and a lubricant oil composition, containing the hydrocarbon composition, and having excellent low-temperature characteristics and a high viscosity index. SOLUTION: The hydrocarbon composition is produced by bringing a hydrocarbon raw material containing a branched paraffin having ≤5C branched alkyl groups into contact with urea, and separating a branched paraffin of which the number of carbons from at least one terminal to the branching position is ≥6 in the branched paraffin, from the hydrocarbon raw material as a urea adduct. The produced hydrocarbon composition has not only the high viscosity index but also the excellent low-temperature characteristics, and is especially suitable as a lubricant base oil or a lubricant oil composition.
