    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a plasma display panel which can minimize non-uniformity of luminance in the display surface, while reducing the cost and power consumption, because change in the current or aperture ratio is small even if there is misalignment.SOLUTION: The plasma display panel sections a discharge cell by disposing a display electrode pair in which a discharge gap is formed, a front plate having a dielectric layer, and a back surface plate having a partition wall so as to face each other, has a first notch in a region of the display electrode where the discharge gap is formed, and has a second notch in a region of the display electrode excepting the discharge gap. In a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the display electrode, the cross sectional area of the display electrode at a position having the first notch is equal to the cross sectional area of the display electrode at a position having the second notch.
