    • An image reading device in which a processing time required for prescanning and fine-scanning of a film can be shortened. A reading system for prescanning which performs prescanning and a reading system for fine-scanning which performs fine-scanning are adjacently juxtaposed on a conveying path of a photographic film. Prescanning is carried out by the reading system for prescanning, which is structured such that light that is emitted from a light source is transmitted through the photographic film, which is conveyed at a constant speed which is suitable for fine-scanning, the light is detected by a linear CCD, and frame images at the photographic film are thereby preliminarily read. Then, fine-scanning is carried out with the photographic film being conveyed at the same speed and the frame images on the photographic film being read at the reading system for fine-scanning by a quantity of light controlled on the basis of reading results of prescanning.

    • In order to expose a required exposed line for which an exposing deviation caused by a fixing accuracy of an exposing head is corrected, when exposing images by dynamic lighting control, an image forming apparatus comprises a exposing head 24 having a plurality of arrayed illuminants aligned in the main scanning direction wherein, when an image bearing body moving in the auxiliary direction at a predetermined scanning speed is exposed to form an image by controlling dynamically to light arrayed illuminants according to image data, a detector for a position of a print head 17 detects a deviation from a predetermined standard fixing point generating a deviating position detecting signal. A memory control circuit 14 selects as an exposing data from image data of the k−1 (k is an integer greater than 1) precedent line to image data of the current line based on a correcting value determined in accordance with a deviation denoted by the position-detecting signal. The arrayed illuminants are dynamically controlled to light whereby an exposing head position detecting device can detect a deviation from the standard fixing position according to the distribution of the received light from light emitting elements provided to each of the exposing head.

    • The invention relates to a scanner, wherein a position of a moveable part of the scanner is adjusted by inputting a command variable which changes repeatedly in the same manner. A command signal corresponding to the command variable is supplied to a controller (3), the controller (3) being constructed for correcting a setpoint deviation in the presence of a command variable which is constant in time. A control error of the controller (3) which arises from the change in the command variable is corrected by evaluating a setpoint deviation of the position of the moveable part or an equivalent variable, obtaining from this a correction signal and changing an output signal of the controller (3) by using the correction signal.

    • An apparatus for scanning with multiple beams emitted from a semiconductor laser by a polygonal mirror, wherein an image is written for each scanning line by each beam of the multiple beams. The apparatus includes an automatic light amount control circuit having: (i) a light amount detecting circuit to detect a light amount of each beam for each scanning line, and (ii) a sampling/holding circuit to sample and hold a control voltage corresponding to the detected light amount of each beam for each scanning line. The automatic light amount control circuit controls the semiconductor laser based on the control voltage held by the sampling/holding circuit so as to control the light amount of each beam to be a predetermined light amount for each scanning line. The apparatus also includes a synchronization control circuit having an index sensor and a light receiving section on which each beam passes. The index sensor detects a passage of each beam on the light receiving section and generates a passage signal for each beam, and the synchronization control circuit controls each beam based on the passage signal so as to be synchronized with other beams for each scanning line. The automatic light amount control circuit, moreover, controls the light amount of each beam for each scanning line before each beam on each scanning line enters the light receiving section of the synchronization control section.

    • A recorded image frame is distorted on the printing plate when image information or image data from a computer is recorded in the form of band strips, with a plurality of image elements dotted on each widthwise dotted line of the band, on a printing plate wound over a drum. The present invention permits an undistorted recording on the printing plate by an arrangement which includes a printing plate wound around a drum in the form of a right circular cylinder, an exposing assembly to record image information in the form of a band strip on the printing plate by means of light beam, a moving mechanism to move the exposing assembly in relation to the drum in the direction of the drum axis--by one band width per revolution of the drum--and a circuit to generate an incline distortion offsetting signal in a sawtoothed pattern having the cycle synchronized with that of the rotation of the drum with the initial writing position on the band as starting point. Under this arrangement, this incline distortion offsetting signal is applied to the exposing assembly to gradually move the light beam in the direction opposite to the moving direction of moving mechanism--by one band width per revolution of the drum. This process is repeated until the whole printing image is recorded.
