摘要： An optical scanner is capable of effectively correcting a difference with respect to the sub-scanning direction between the positions of optical spots for scanning photoconductor drums of a tandem type color image forming apparatus. The optical scanner includes an optical axis adjusting part. The optical axis adjusting part uses a deflecting mirror or a wedge-shaped prism to deflect the optical axis of an optical beam with respect to the sub-scanning direction. As a result, it is possible to accurately correct a resist difference among individual image forming stations and form a high-quality color image without any color displacement.

摘要： An optical scanner scans a plurality of objects respectively with optical beams and includes a deflector assembly including at least one deflecting unit that deflects the optical beams in a main scanning direction and a plurality of reflection optical systems each including a plurality of reflection mirrors to reflect one of the optical beams and a curvature adjustment unit. The curvature adjustment unit forcibly curves one of the reflection mirrors in a direction opposite the main scanning direction with a holder structure, pushes the reflection mirror in a direction opposite the direction of the forcible curve with a pressure unit, and adjusts a direction and an amount of curvature of a main scanning line by adjusting an amount that the pressure unit deforms the reflection mirror. The main scanning lines on the plurality of objects are curved in a similar direction due to the forcible curve of the reflection mirror.

摘要： A light beam position detecting device detects the passage positions of a plurality of light beams for scanning the surface of a photosensitive drum. The light beam position detecting device has a sensor pattern for generating an output which is continuously changed in a wide range with a variation in the passage position of the light beam in a sub-scanning direction perpendicular to a main scanning direction of the light beam. The sensor pattern precisely detects the relative scanning position of the light beam in a wide range. The passage positions of the plurality of light beams for scanning the surface of the photosensitive drum are controlled to a preset position based on the output of the sensor pattern.

摘要： An optical scanner includes a light source which emits a light beam, a reflection mirror which has a reflection surface, a first axis parallel to a main-scanning direction, and a second axis along the reflection surface and perpendicular to the first axis, and an optical element which adjusts a position of a scanning line in a sub-scanning direction, the optical element having a beam-incidence surface, a third axis parallel to the main-scanning direction on the beam-incidence surface, and a fourth axis perpendicular to the third axis and along a beam-incidence direction. A first adjustment unit is provided to rotate the reflection mirror around the second axis in order to attain uniformity of a scanning speed. A second adjustment unit is provided to rotate the optical element around the fourth axis in order to correct an inclination of the scanning line to a desired position of the scanning line.

A closed loop scan line control system further includes a scan line correction mechanism that adjusts the position of the scan line such that the position of the scan line is corrected for each individual polygon facet. Beneficially, the closed loop scan line correction mechanism includes a mover that moves an optical element, such as a mirror or lens, that adjusts the scan line position.

摘要： In a digital copying machine using a multi-beam optical system, a light beam position detector situated on a line extended from the surface of a photosensitive drum detects the passing position of each light beam scanned by a polygon mirror rotated by a polygon motor. A CPU calculates control amounts for galvanomirrors by using a beam position detector output processor, on the basis of the detection result of the beam position detector. Based on the calculated control amounts, galvanomirror drive circuits drive the galvanomirrors, thereby to control the positions of the beams in a sub-scan direction. The passing positions of the beams can be precisely detected with no special precision in assembling the optical system. In addition, the positions of the beams in the sub-scan direction can be controlled at predetermined positions, even if some change occurs in the structure of the optical system due to a variation in ambience or a variation with the passing of time.
