摘要： A system, apparatus and method for configuring a wireless sound reinforcement system detects a controller and two or more wireless adapters using a router. The controller has a plurality of input channels and output channels. Each wireless adapter is associated with an entertainment device. Channel information about each input channel and output channel is obtained from the controller. Device information is obtained from each entertainment device via the wireless adapter. A network address is assigned to each input channel, output channel and wireless adapter. Each entertainment device is mapped to at least one of the input channels and/or output channels. The device information and channel mappings for the entertainment devices are provided to the controller. Data packets are received from the wireless adapters and the controller. A destination network address of each received data packet is identified and each received data packet is sent to the identified destination network address.

The user can respond to items in the radio broadcast such as advertisements, fund raising drives, or interactive listener polls during the broadcast. Data such as song title and artist, author or publisher and the IP address for the location where the digital version of the content is stored, can be transmitted using, e.g., the RBDS/RDS data stream. A reference number representing song title and artist, author or publisher and the IP address for the location where the digital version of the content is stored can also be employed for ease of implementation. This reference number can reside in a lookup table to be accessed by broadcast response server.

摘要： Techniques to seamlessly switch reception between multimedia programs are described. For “continued decoding”, a wireless device continues to receive, decode, decompress, and (optionally) display a current program until overhead information needed to decode the new program is received. For “early decoding”, the wireless device receives a user input and identifies a program with potential for user selection. The wireless device initiates decoding of the identified program, prior to its selection, so that the program can be decompressed and displayed earlier if it is subsequently selected. For time-compensated transmission, a base station transmits video and audio for a program in a manner to account for the difference between audio processing delay and video processing delay at the wireless device. This allows the wireless device to present the audio earlier during a program change, since its processing delay is shorter, and thus provide a faster response to the program change.

A determination is also made as to whether the first broadcast content can be interrupted by the second broadcast content. If the second broadcast content has a higher rating than the first broadcast content, and if it is deemed permissible to interrupt the first broadcast content, then the broadcast receiver automatically switches to the second channel.
