摘要： A display device includes a panel assembly, a backlight unit supplying light to the panel assembly, a first photosensor, a second photosensor, a sensing signal processor and a signal controller. The first photosensor is supplied with ambient light and light from the backlight unit to generate a first sensing signal. The second photosensor is blocked from the ambient light and receives the light from the backlight unit to generate a second sensing signal. The sensing signal processor receives the first and the second sensing signals from the first and the second photosensors for processing. The signal controller determines a sensing state responsive to processed first and second sensing signals from the sensing signal processor and performing a predetermined control operation responsive to the sensing state.

摘要： A liquid crystal display having a circuit to protect against static electricity makes passages in which static electricity can flow, by connecting diodes between a plurality of data lines, gate lines and a plurality of shorting lines in the same or opposite direction as current flow. Accordingly, the circuit protects a liquid crystal display from static electricity. A testing method of display quality checks whether the data lines and the gate lines are shorted or not by applying signals to the gate lines and the data lines through shorting lines and making mutually inverted output voltages appear in contiguous pixels.

摘要： A three-dimensional (3D) display is disclosed. One aspect includes: a display unit including a plurality of pixels and a slit barrier selectively shielding light irradiated from the display unit. The display unit additionally includes a controller controlling the turn-on and turn-off of the slit barrier and generating a first back light compensation signal compensating the reduction of the luminance of the display unit when the slit barrier is turned off and a second back light compensation signal compensating the reduction of the luminance of the display when the slit barrier is turned on to compensate the luminance reduction by the slit barrier. According to at least one aspect of the 3D display using a slit barrier scheme, it is possible to minimize the deterioration of luminance by a slit barrier.
