    • The present invention provides a valve operating system for internal combustion engines, having a roller rolling contacting a valve operating cam, the system being provided with an oil supply passage capable of reducing a pressure loss to a low level even when a flow rate of lubricating oil entering the oil supply passage increases in accordance with a heightened engine speed, improving the lubricating ability with respect to the roller, and attaining a long lifetime of a rocker arm. This valve operating system includes a rocker arm support member provided with an oil passage in an inner portion thereof, a cam shaft provided on a valve operating cam, and a rocker arm which is provided with a roller rolling contacting the valve operating cam, and which is provided in an inner portion thereof with an oil supply passage for supplying a lubricating oil from the rocker arm support member to the roller, the sectional area of the flow passage of the oil supply passage increasing gradually from an opening thereof on the side of the roller toward an opening thereof on the side of the rocker arm support member.

    • A weight and form sensing apparatus according to the present invention provides weight sensors on a base, in matrix pattern for instance. Each weight sensor has a load receiving portion on a top. Weight and form can be sensed by single weight and form sensing apparatus according to the present invention. That is, output values of the weight sensors are summed, so that an article put on the weight sensors can be detected. Also, the existence of the load on each weight sensor is determined based on output signal of each weight sensor, so that the bottom form and size of the article can be identified. The weight and form sensing apparatus according to the present invention can be preferably arranged into a feeding stream of the article because an arrangement of the sensors for identifying the form and size of the article does not interfere an arrangement of the feeding mechanism for the article.

    • An image forming apparatus is equipped with a document reading device for reading image data on a document at a reading section; a memory to store the image data therein, the memory capable of storing the image data of plural pages of documents; and an image recording system for recording an image on a recording sheet based on the image data stored in the memory. A recording sheet reversing system receives the recording sheet from the image recording system, wherein the image is recorded on one side of the recording sheet, reverses the recording sheet, and refeeds the reversed recording sheet to the image recording system without stacking the recording sheet, whereby another image is recorded on the other side of the recording sheet by the image recording system. A controller controls the document reading device and the image recording system such that, when images are recorded on both sides of a recording sheet by the recording sheet reversing system, after image data of a predetermined number of pages of documents are read by the image recording system and are stored in the memory, the image recording system starts recording images based on the image data stored in the memory simultaneously as the document reading device successively reads other pages of documents.
