摘要： Preparation for producing refractory materials, characterized in that it comprises one or more particulate, refractory components and one or more binders, where—the particulate, refractory component has a mean particle diameter of >0.3 m and—the binder is selected from among—from 0.05 to 50% by weight of a very finely particulate binder having a mean particle diameter of from 10 nm to 0.3 m selected from the group consisting of aluminum oxide, titanium dioxide, zirconium dioxide and/or mixed oxides of the abovementioned oxides, —from 0 to 20% by weight of an inorganic binder, from 0 to 20% by weight of a hydraulically setting binder, —from 0 to 15% by weight of an organic, silicon-free binder—and the preparation additionally contains from 0 to 35% by weight of water, where—the proportion of the particulate, refractory component is equal to 100 and the percentages of the further materials in the preparation are based on the particulate component.

摘要： There is disclosed a ceramic structure which comprises a material having a controlled pore distribution and including cordierite as the main crystal phase. In the pore distribution, the volume of pores having pore diameters smaller than 20 μm accounts for 15% or less of the total pore volume, and the volume of pores having pore diameters of 20 to 100 μm accounts for 70% or more of the total pore volume. This ceramic structure is suitable for realizing a ceramic catalyst body which has excellent purification efficiency, is reduced in pressure loss, and is mountable even in a limited space.

摘要： A method for producing a biocompatible material of the formula NaxKyNbO3, 0≦x≦0.8, 0.2≦y≦1, x+y=1 includes the steps of a) providing a Na-precursor and a K-precursor for NaxKyNbO3, b) mixing the precursors in solution wherein said precursors first react to form a sol and thereafter a gel, c) heat treating the gel to obtain an oxide of the material NaxKyNbO3, 0≦x≦0.8, 0.2≦y≦1, x+y=1. The material can be produced as a film, and the material or film can be provided on the exterior surface of a medical implant that will come into contact with body tissue and/or body fluids upon implantation thereof.

摘要： A composite nanoparticle, for example a nanoparticle containing one or a plurality of cores embedded in another material. A composite nanoparticle can be formed by a one step process that includes: ejecting material from a bulk target material using physical energy source, with the bulk target material disposed in a liquid. Composite nanoparticles are formed by cooling at least a portion of the ejected material in the liquid. The composite fine particles may then be collected from the liquid. A product that includes composite fine particles may be formed with laser ablation, and ultrashort laser ablation may be utilized so as to preserve composite nanoparticle stoichiometry. For applications of the composite fine particles, optical properties and/or magnetic properties may be exploited for various applications.

摘要： A ceramic article comprises ceramic fibers having an aspect ratio of greater than 3:1 and ceramic particles. The ceramic fibers are substantially randomly oriented in three dimensions in the ceramic article. A method of forming the ceramic article includes the step of providing a composition including ceramic fibers having an aspect ratio of greater than 3:1 and ceramic particles. The composition is extruded through a multi-screw extruder having at least three intermeshing screws to form an extrudate. The extrudate is heated to form the ceramic article.
