    • A carbon brush holder with improved air vents includes a body, a housing, and an exhaust lid, which are provided with corresponding fixing structures for their convenient assembly or disassembly. The exhaust lid is formed with a diverging air channel. By the exquisite configurations of the fixing structures provided on its components, the carbon brush holder is easy to assemble and disassemble so as to facilitate replacement or repair of parts settled in the carbon brush holder. Besides, since the exhaust lid in the present invention has the diverging air channel opened at two sides thereof as the air vents, it significantly improves the efficiency in dust expelling and heat dissipating, thereby effectively preventing the air vent from blocked and preventing overheat caused by poor exhaust.

    • A high speed electric motor for use in a variety of applications. The electric motor an electric motor including a motor housing or stator, a rotor having a commutator and brushes for contacting the commutator at a predefined area known as the contact area. Additionally, the motor includes a forced air cooling assembly. The forced air cooling assembly includes a centrifugal fan for creating air flow, a manifold for accelerating the air flow. The manifold having exit ports and the exit ports being positioned directly over the contact area for directing the accelerated air flow at the contact area and the motor housing having at least one opening aligned with the contact area and at least a second opening defining an exit vent. Additionally, a method of cooling the motor in accordance with the invention is also disclosed.

    • An electrical current collector system has an electrically conductive slip ring mounted to a rotatable shaft and a fixed conducting ring assembly forming a partially enclosed AC high voltage electrical current conductive ring channel in which slip ring contacting members are mounted. A compartment at ground potential at least partially encloses the slip ring and the fixed conducting ring assembly. A source directs a fluid into the compartment so that the fluid travels through into the conductive ring channel to perform at least one of cooling and cleaning of the slip ring contacting members. A hollow conically shaped insulator has a frustum with a narrower cross-sectional opening connected to the conductive ring channel and a larger diameter cross-sectional portion passing through and connected to the compartment for exhausting the fluid from the current conductive ring channel.

    • An enclosure for a collector set on a turbine generator includes a non-conducting transverse baffle which divides the enclosure into a separate compartment for each polarity. An aperture in the baffle forms with the generator shaft an annular passage through which cooling air passes from one compartment to the other and in so doing flows directly over the collector ring and brush sets in each compartment to provide more efficient cooling. A removable housing is guided into place over the collector set by a grooved guide which engages the top edge of the baffle and forms a seal between compartments. Single doors on each side of the housing provide access to both polarities and carry a seal, which mates with the baffle with the doors closed, to force the air to pass through the annular passage. An insulated safety handle above each door provides support when leaning inward to change brushes with the generator at full load, and discourages inserting both hands into the enclosure at once.
