摘要： The present invention relates to a multi-pole circuit breaker with an interchangeable magneto-thermal tripping unit electrically and mechanically connected to the breaker unit by means of connecting screws. The connecting lugs of the breaker unit are positioned with vertical play in transverse slots in the breaker unit casing and are electrically connected to the movable contacts by flexible connections. When the connecting screws are tightened the breaker unit connecting lugs are shifted to bear on the associated tripping unit lugs irrespective of any positioning defects. A reset spring of the electro-magnetic tripping device is anchored on one end on the armature and on the other end to the tripping device adjusting bar.

摘要： A multi-pole circuit breaker having a molded case and a contact operating mechanism supported in said case. The mechanism is controlled by a handle and a trip device. To obtain the reset of the trip hook when said trip device has opened the contacts, a rocker secured to the handle engages a drive lever forming an extension of the upper link of a toggle joint of said mechanism. The catch of the trip device is biased into an intermediate balanced locking position by means of a spring and is positioned onto a pivot pin by means of radial projection insides the bore of the catch which fits into a matching groove of the pin.

摘要： A double-pole rocker switch with thermal overload protection is constructed as a fully functional sub-assembly which may be tested and adjusted prior to insertion in a tubular housing. The sub-assembly is held in the housing by releasable locks for subsequent servicing. All component elements of the switch are carried on the sub-assembly, including all electrical contacts. In particular, the sub-assembly has a base in which two pairs of electrical contacts are fixedly disposed, each pair being contacted by a spring-loaded contact bridge in one position of the rocker. This position can be attained, however, only if a movable contact block is held at one end by a fulcrum provided by a latch. The latch pivots in a V-shaped groove and may be removed from engagement with the contact block by a bimetallic strip under conditions of overload. In that condition, even deliberate actuation of the rocker cannot result in a closure of the switch because of the absence of the fulcrum.

摘要： A contact closure mechanism for a circuit breaker has a pair of contact arms bearing contacts which are pivotally mounted at their mid-sections on the ends of outwardly extending projections formed on a member slidable along an axis. A coiled contact pressure spring urges the contact arms into closure relationship with respective stationary contacts to establish electrical contact. A coiled contact opening spring coaxially disposed with respect to the pressure spring, selectively urges the slide member in one direction along the axis when the latching load pressure is relieved, causing the contact arms to pivot and their contacts to separate from the fixed contacts a distance which is exponential with respect to movement of said slide member. As the slide member moves, rocker cams forming an integral part of the opposing inside housing walls, are engaged by the contact arms which causes a rolling, pivotal separating movement to occur between the respective contact pairs of the circuit breaker.

摘要： An apparatus includes a cell pan that supports a circuit breaker within a switchgear cell, and a lift pan that carries a circuit breaker outside of the switchgear cell. The lift pan has a track for a roller on the circuit breaker. The apparatus further includes an extension rail that interconnects the lift pan with the cell pan in an aligned position. With the lift pan in aligned position, the track on the lift pan can receive the roller upon horizontal draw-out movement of the circuit breaker from the cell pan. A latch on the extension rail has a blocking position in which it blocks the roller from rolling outward off the cell pan, and has a non-blocking position in which it does not block the roller from rolling outward off the cell pan. The latch automatically moves from the blocking position to the non-blocking position under the influence of the lift pan upon movement of the lift pan into the aligned position.
