    • We describe a touch sensing system comprising a light source to project light defining a touch sheet above a surface; a camera directed to capture a touch sense image from the touch sheet, comprising light scattered by an object; and a signal processor to process the touch sense image to identify a lateral location of the object on the surface. A brightness of the projected light is modulated to define bright, touch detecting intervals and dark intervals. The camera and the light projection are synchronized such that the camera selectively captures scattered light during the touch detecting intervals and rejects ambient light during the dark intervals. The system further comprises a pen. The pen comprises a photodetector to detect the projected light, a first light source detectable by the camera, and a controller coupled to control the first light source such that it is selectively illuminated during touch detecting intervals in synchronism with modulated projected light of the touch sheet.

    • We describe a method of projecting a colour image on a screen holographically. The method includes: inputting colour image data including data for at least two colour planes of said image, a first, longer wavelength colour plane and a second, shorter wavelength colour plane; generating data for respective first and second holograms from said first and second colour planes, said first hologram having a greater resolution than said second hologram; and displaying said first and second holograms in turn on a common spatial light modulator (SLM) illuminated by light of respective said first and second wavelengths to project said colour image onto said screen; and wherein a scaling in resolution between said first and second holograms is dependent on scaling between said first and second wavelengths such that, when projected on said screen pixels of said image generated by said first and second holograms have substantially the same pitch.

    • A method of distributed authorization of one or more client applications to one or more connected devices. The method comprises: receiving at a connected device, from a browser executing a client application, a client token and an access request. The client token has been provided to the client application by a process comprising generating one or more client tokens, one for each of one or more client applications (a client token defines permissions for a client application and a domain hosting the client application); signing the client tokens with a private key of a client token issuer, and distributing the client tokens to the client applications; verifying a signature of the client token using a public key of the client token issuer; determining whether the client token grants the client application permission for the access request and, if permission is granted: replying to the browser with a redirect response including an access token granting permission for the client application to access the connected device and identification of the domain hosting the client application from the client token; and executing the redirect response with the browser to make the access token available to the client application for use by the client application when requesting the connected device to perform a task.
