摘要： The fault location of a fault on a line of an electrical energy supply network is determined. First and second current and/or voltage values are measured and provided with a timestamp at the line ends of the line. Following the occurrence of a fault, the timestamped first and second values are used to determine the fault location. Profiles of travelling waves propagating along the line towards the line ends when the fault occurs are determined from the timestamped first and second values at both line ends. The fault location is defined from the profiles of the travelling waves from a time difference with which the travelling waves arrive at the two line ends. The time difference is derived from a pattern comparison of the profiles of the travelling waves determined for the line ends.

A fault arc, occurring during a lightning strike, can be conducted outwards away from the electrical component and forced into rotation around the electrical component in an effective manner due to the ribbon-shaped strips at the outer edge of the connection region and at least two ribbon-shaped strips overlapping each other at a spacing with respect to their delimiting surfaces lying perpendicular to the axial direction.

摘要： A method secures a railroad crossing which allows a timely securing of the railroad crossing, and is particularly efficient and reliable. The method proceeds in such a way that sensor data relating to a rail-borne vehicle approaching the railroad crossing are detected by a track-side sensor device. The sensor data contains at least the current speed of the rail-borne vehicle. The detected sensor data are transmitted by the track-side sensor device to a stationary control device. A switch-on time is determined by the stationary control device taking into account the transmitted sensor data and route data. Upon reaching the switch-on time, the securing of the railroad crossing is initiated by the stationary control device. After the railroad crossing has been successfully secured, a travel permission that extends beyond the railroad crossing is determined by a control device of a train control system, and is transmitted to the rail-borne vehicle.

摘要： Among the existent X-ray phase-contrast modalities, grating interferometry appears as a promising technique for commercial applications, since it is compatible with conventional X-ray tubes. However, since applications such as medical imaging and homeland security demand covering a considerable field of view, the fabrication of challenging and expensive large-area gratings would be needed. A scanning setup is a good solution, because it uses cheaper line detectors instead of large-area 2D detectors and would require smaller gratings. In this setup, the phase-retrieval using the conventional phase-stepping approach would be slow, so having a faster method to record the signals becomes fundamental. To tackle this problem, a scanning-mode grating interferometer configuration is used, in which a grating is tilted to form Moire fringes perpendicular to the grating lines. The sample is then translated along the fringes, so each line detector records a different phase step for each slice of the sample.
