摘要： A method of transferring items comprises feeding items toward a carrier mechanism from one or more input streams and engaging void areas in the items with one or more rods extending from the carrier mechanism. The method further comprises manipulating the carrier mechanism relative to the one or more input streams into a position substantially aligned with one or more output streams and feeding the items to the one or more output streams. The configuration of items in each input stream is different than the configuration of items in each output stream.

The gravure printing system of the present disclosure is provided with a central roll having a plurality of discrete cells disposed upon an outer surface thereof. A first of the plurality of discrete cells receives a first fluid from a first position internal to the central roll and a second of the plurality of discrete cells receives a second fluid from a second position internal to the central roll, the first fluid being different from the second fluid. The first and second cells are disposed adjacent each other upon the outer surface.

摘要： A mandrel cupping assembly for releasably engaging the unsupported ends of a plurality of mandrels disposed on a web winding turret assembly is disclosed. The mandrel cupping assembly comprises a cupping arm turret, a mandrel cup and cupping arm cooperatively associated with each mandrel, an outer ring guide disposed coaxially about the cupping arm turret, and an actuator cooperatively associated with each cupping arm. Each of the mandrel cups and cupping arms are disposed radially about the cupping arm turret. The mandrel cups releasably engage the unsupported end of the mandrel against the outer ring guide. The mandrel cups have a hold-open position and a hold-closed position and are carried in a radial orbital path about the cupping arm turret while disposed in either of the hold-open position or the hold-closed position. Each actuator disposes the corresponding cupping arm from the hold-open position to the hold-closed position.

摘要： An apparatus for the application of atomized fluid to a permeable web material is disclosed. The apparatus has a fluid source and a receipt plenum. The fluid source is disposed in proximate fluid contact with the first surface of the web material. The fluid source has a positively pressured permeable roll having atomized fluid and at least one aperture disposed therein. The apertures provide fluid communication between an inner portion of the roll and a surface thereof. The fluid is disposable from the inner portion to the surface through the apertures into contacting engagement with the permeable web material. The receipt plenum has an opening disposed adjacent to the second surface of the web material that provides a source of negative pressure to the second surface of the web material that causes the fluid to traverse through the web.

摘要： An apparatus for removing particulate-carrying air from a moving web. The moving web has a first side and a second side. The apparatus includes a NACA duct positioned in a non-contacting relationship on a first side of the moving web, and at least partially submerged in a particulate-carrying boundary layer of the moving web. The NACA duct can have an intake opening and an exhaust opening such that when the intake opening is submerged in the boundary layer at least a portion of the particulate-carrying air from the boundary layer enters the intake opening and exits the exhaust opening, thereby scavenging particulate-carrying air from said boundary layer.

摘要： An apparatus for the application of atomized fluid to a web material having a first surface and a second surface opposed thereto is disclosed. The apparatus is provided with a fluid source disposed adjacent to the first surface of the web material and a receipt plenum disposed adjacent to the second surface of the web material. The receipt plenum provides a source of negative pressure to the second surface of the web material. A fluid disposed from the fluid source contacts the first surface of the web material and is caused to traverse therethrough by the source of negative pressure. A portion of the fluid contacting the first surface of the web material is contained by the receipt plenum.
