摘要： A verifiable display is provided that enables the visual content of the display to be detected and confirmed in a variety of ambient lighting conditions, environments, and operational states. In particular, the verifiable display has a display layer that is capable of visually setting an intended message for human or machine reading, with the intended message being set using pixels. Depending on the operational condition of the display and the ambient light, for example, the message that is actually displayed and perceivable may vary from the intended message. To detect what message is actually displayed, a light detection layer in the verifiable display detects the illumination state of the pixels, and in that way is able to detect what message is actually being presented by the display layer.

摘要： The present invention relates to a flexible display device (10) comprising a flexible substrate (12), and a plurality of electro-optical switching elements (14) accommodated on the substrate. The device is characterized in that the substrate has a plurality of through openings (16) being arranged in a repetitive pattern so that the electro-optical switching elements are located in areas of the substrate adjacent to the openings. The through openings allow for bending the display device in two directions simultaneously, with reduced tensile or compressive stress in the plane of the substrate.

摘要： In one embodiment, an optical state monitor includes an a light source detection layer for detecting electromagnetic radiation from an associated good. The optical state monitor uses a processor to evaluate the detected radiation, and make a comparison to a pre-defined optical state profile for the good. By making this comparison, the optical state detector is able to determine a quality for the good. In a particular construction, the optical state detector has an integral light source, and the light detection layer is printed as a thin film device. In this way, a stand-alone self-contained sensor is constructed for determining the good's current quality.

摘要： The present invention relates to a display device comprising an outer display stacked with an inner display and being arranged to be operable in a first, multiple view mode and a second, single view mode. An idea of the invention is to arrange an electrophoretic display on top of an emissive display. The display device may be operated in two modes; a first mode being a multiple or dual view mode and a second mode being a single view mode. In order to activate the single view mode, the outer display is set in a transparent state and the inner display is turned on, such that it displays desired objects. In the multiple view mode, the outer display is functioning as a 3D-barrier. Hence, some of the picture elements of the outer display are set in a transparent state while others are set in an opaque state. The viewer sees a different picture with each respective eye, and will accordingly experience a multiple view picture of an object that is displayed on the inner display.

A storage line pulse is to be generated during at least a part of a row activation pulse, then the row activation pulse or a row de-activation pulse may get a reduced value such that the necessary electrode voltage swing is reduced. Alternatively, alternating storage line pulses having a period of at most a duration of a row activation pulse are to be generated, then a data pulse may get a reduced value such that the necessary electrode voltage swing is reduced. This all results in more stable drivers, a smaller display unit, a lower overall power consumption and common available row drivers and less expensive column drivers.
